I'd like to see the ability to output animation with an Alpha channel. This would allow you to create an animation, render it out with Alpha transparency and then incorporate it into a video or other animation using editing software that supports Alpha channels.

This would be very beneficial.

While I agree, an alpha channel would be convienent, it's by no means required. Render your video on a green background, then in your editor key out the greenscreen. Something most if not all video editors could accomplish quite easily.

You can do this already if you use Sequence Image formats like PNG. You can open these in most video editors and the results are the same as if you used video.
