Dear Friends,
I am trying to make a character with a scarf/stole like the one you see in the attached image. The stole was created in Maya and soft cloth physics was applied in iClone. (the settings are also shown in the image below).
I used dummy objects and activated kinematic for g3 violet character as shown in the last image. The stole was attached to the dummy object.
Now the problem is when the character is walking the stole is moving with the character but when the character stops the stole falls down.. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks, Shilpa
Regards Shilpa

Hi Below are the videos for example http://youtu.be/_cBeDEOxMVA Here is the another video that soft body starts falling from the first frame even the character is moving..... http://youtu.be/4odhTaCZlLY Thanks Shilpa

Hi ,
add capsule or sphere on neck and head . The best setting with soft body is the simpliest .

Add also more collision margin ,and work "by frame" mode , before bake animation .

With the same avatar I make this test for you in few minutes :
Soft cloth is cloth64x64 (default cloth physics ) , no prefab cloth , no pin group .

But the most important is the setting of props (skeleton on G character like my first screenshoot )

It will also help immensely if you click on the wrench in the upper right corner of the physics window to access the physics world settings. Now set the physics world scale down a couple notches to 2 (1 if your system is a monster). You can also lessen gravity if you like, but then your cloth will flow differently.

Yea! It is a dirty fix which does work but NOT always and depends on the motions. What happens here is: As the hanging drape is pulling by gravity towards the same direction, it is sort of held in place at the neck, but not really tight! Some motions will let it go through and fall. Gravity settings at 2 are quite unrealistic. I understand this is a "fix" for an unpinned object! Fine if it works...
That is why I have been insisting to RL they would provide a pinning tool WITHIN iClone!
It seems my recommendation is beyond comprehension... So far! ;)

I my demo world setting is no change , set to 5 ;).
Yes pin group, is the best in this example , I agree .

Hi Apparition
That scarf was done in maya... What you said is correct.... In some motions this method is not working...Sorry for posting this in two places..... i will continue this here https://forum.reallusion.com/Topic130054-14-1.aspx?Update=1 Sorry for inconvenience
Thanks
Shilpa
