Thank you for the tutorial.
Especially the Photoshop Part was very cool Smile

I´m wondering why RL doesn´t provide PNG files with the necessary layers inside anyway.
Would save some time I think Smile

Hello Alley, Thanks for the tutorial, you make everything look easy...Ermm I suspect I'm going to spend many hours coming to terms with it though...Unsure

One thing...Blink Fortunately I was able to make Photoshop my default programme, as i've had to do it before with other programmes.Whistling I suspect that others who have never had to do it before (make a programme their default), have never done it before and may have no idea how to do it... Or perhaps it's just me that hasn't seen the instructions on how to ally Iclone with a paint programme, in my case Photoshop...Blush

Hi Ken,

Glad you figured it out, but for any one else - here is what to do to make photoshop your default program for texture editing -

1)  Select Preferences inside iClone (top right the little wheel icon)

2)  At the top left in the window, there is a box entitled "Texture Editor".  In that box, you fill in the path on where your "exe" file is for your photo program.

In my case, it was here....

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Photoshop.exe

I have CS4 also, which I use occasionally, in which case I change the path to CS4 above.

If you ever have a question about anything, just send me a PM. Smile or write:

Hello!
I am [very] new to iClone having just got the pro version. I've found this tutorial extremely useful for editing clothing that already exists - but how do you go about making brand new clothing; e.g. for the same of argument let's say I wanted to create Darth Vader - head, cloak, etc.
How would I go about creating the relevant meshes?

Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to send Alley a Private Message, together with an Image of what you want created. EG; an Image of Darth Vader. She does charge for her work, though. Her Prices are very reasonable.

Anyone-else?

I'd be interested in knowing this, too. I think it's more complicated than you might expect. I have feeling it involves going into 3dx max or something similar.

Is there a clone cloth package somewhere or do I have to buy different clone cloths for each different avatar?
I am looking to make some clothing for Old Testament workers in a field.

Do you know about the Marketplace Ken? It may have a lot of what you need. Check out these links.

There are a few others floating around as well, but make sure you stick G5, for best results. Sorry no G6 options. RL have not released any sort of Cloncloth for G6.

Is there a "Clone Clothe" in iClone 6?  Wanting to learn how to make some of my own clothes; period specific.
By thebiz.movies - 8 Years Ago
Clothing in from IC6 forward is handled inm the Character Creator (CC).  There is a set of default clothes available in the software and more bases can be purchased (ie: https://www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/iClone/pack/CC_Essential_Cloth_Fabric/default.aspx).  These bases can be edited.  You can also develop your own clothes through external sculpting/modeling tools and then importing through 3DExchange.  Look through the CC posts for more info on this.
