I've update my iClone 5 to version 5.13, but the installer for Physics Toolbox insists that I only have version 5.1 and it will not install. I'm running iClone 5 on a i5 windows 7 64 bit machine running Windows 7 Professional.

Is anyone else having problems?

If you're using the Reallusion Update pop-up to update your iClone - it's been having problems and hasn't actually been installing the latest patch.

Make sure you download the patch by logging into your account, clicking on your iClone 5 'Bonus' link, then choosing "v5.13 Patch ( 55.6MB, 2012/3/23)" on the right column. That's the only way that many of us were able to get to the latest version. It's possible that the Reallusion Update pop-up thing has been fixed by now, though.

Actually, here is a direct link to that patch: http://file.reallusion.com/patch/ic/iC513_Enu_Full_Patch.exe

Hi Joe

Have you been able to install successfully yet? Please let us know and we will try to help.

I posted this in the welcome and howdy do thread but havent
got any replies. I just found this thread which is slightly old and
thought I would try it here.

I am trying to load Physics Toolbox Plugin and I keep coming
up with this error.

"Username and password do not match. Please try again."

Any Ideas what to try? I am using the same username and password
that I log into Reallusion webpage. Do I need to create a different one?

Thanks for any help.

I hope Peter (RL) sees this.

All I can say is that you don't need and should not have a different user name / password combination. The one that gets you into RL account is the one to use. You may want to try and contact support as there may be a mismatch on their end.

Thanks for your reply. I will do that.
I did re-download the toolbox and same error.

Hi Phil

I have checked and the Physics Toolbox pack is correctly registered to the same account as your copy of iClone5 so that isn't the problem here.

Do you have iClone5 updated to the latest version which is 5.21? If not please install the latest update from your Member Account and then try to install the Physics Toolbox pack again.

Thanks.

I deleted my previous download of ic5 pro and re-downloaded and installed it.
I checked the version, it tells me I have 5.2.1618.1, on your web page that
checks the installed version, it tells me that I have 5.2.1618.1 installed.

http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/iclone_upgrade.aspx

The above page says that 5.21.1627.1 is the Official Release Version.
Now I just got done d/l and re-installed ic5 only. I checked the version
in the help about tab. It says I have 5.2.1618.1 loaded. I am courious
why I wouldn't have gotten the 5.21.1627.1 version.

And I tried to re-install the newly re-downloaded Physics Toolbox,
No Luck, the same error that Username and Password
dont match my account info.

If you go to your Account / Product History / iC5 / Bonus & Upgrade, you'll see there are 3 Downloads:

1) Current Version

2) iC5.2 Patch

3) iC5.2.1 Patch

IMO, you need to Install all 3 in consecutive order.

However, if you look at my Screenshot, you'll see that the Current Version (Update) Date is the same as the separate 5.2 Patch Update date. Therefore the current Version might also include the 5.2 Update. If-so, why iclude the separate 5.2 Update Patch? Illogical

That being said, I have several e-mail exchanges with Technical support re; unable to Download Market Place Inventory items.

I've spent a week trying to resolve it my end. I can't fathom-out Reallusion's Program & Updates Logic, which isn't the  way all of the other Programs I have re; Program delivery & Updates, which are industry standards.

BTW - There's a correlation between Program Version Numbers & MSI Installshield Corporation Version Numbers.

The 5.2 patch is for those who have 5.13 already, so in that regard it is needed. I have one installation that's still at 5.13.

If you download the current version, you'll only have to apply 5.21, as far as I know.

The 5.2 "Full" version available for download installs both the 32 Bit version and the 64 Bit Beta.:w00t:

The 5.2 Patch will update a 32 Bit 5.1x version to 5.2.

The 5.21 Patch will update both 32 Bit and 64 Bit Beta versions to fix the mess created when using particles in projects.

There is no "Full" 5.2 32 Bit version available for download - each and every user downloading the 5,2 version is being forced against his/her will to install a Beta software on their system - and praying to their God/Sun that nothing gets screwed up while doing so. I have been involved in several Beta testing programmes and have always used a separate OS drive for the tests, this is recommended by just about every software company to ensure that nothing goes wrong with a testers main system.

The good folks at RL have shown that their sense of adventure is not just restricted to developing breaking edge software at affordable prices - they have found a way to get just about every user involved in a public Beta test without having to ask for their signed consent.:w00t::Whistling:

Sometimes things seem so much more complicated than they really are.

Just download the latest full 5.2 installer and then patch to version 5.21 (not 5.2.1). The full installer and all patches are available in your Member Account under Bonus.

Hi,
I got my new computer and I want install iclone, xchange and Physics Toolbox.
I would like to know if after installing iClone 5 pro I should install the content pack
and xchange 5 pro before I install Physics Toolbox. I don't why that would matter,
but want to be safe because (as noted in previous posts) I couldn't install Physics
Toolbox on my laptop.
Thanks,
Phil

I think the order is:
  1. Install iClone 5.2.
  2. Install Bonus Pack.
  3. Apply 5.22 patch.
  4. Install Physics Plugin.

The installation of 3DXchange is independent of this.

Thanks Animagics,
I did install as you suggested and everything is working great.
Being new to iClone, xchange and Physics toolbox, I now
have to watch the videos to learn how to use these. I like
mechanical animating so the Physics Toolbox looks
interesting to me.
Thanks again for the help.
