Thanks Wendy. I had Bryce Pro and Hexagon already but only Daz Studio 4 advanced. I don't really like DAZ 4 but as long as the Pro version is free I will give it a try and see if I can get back into it.

While registering as a new Daz site member yesterday (in order to download the free version 4 pro), the following automatic message appeared: "Your account has been set up successfully. You will need to confirm your account before you can use it. Watch your email inbox for a confirmation email, and follow the included instructions to activate your account."
The only problem is, I have yet to receive any such confirmation link at my e-mail account (have also checked my trash and junk mail folders, to no avail). Daz can't be contacted either to explain the problem without FIRST logging in, which doesn't work without FIRST confirming the account. A Catch-22 situation... S**t! :////

Have you tried recreating the account?
While I have not had that issue with Daz, I have with many other sites, choosing the I forgot my password option can also help, so long as no-one else has used that account in which case it would look like a hack attempt,
adding their email address to your email safe contacts also helps stop email filtering.
I always use a web address initially, you can change it in your account later. Some antivirus suites falsely block sites too.
Also try another browser.
Other than that, not sure what to suggest?
Other than reregistering under another family member's name.
Electronic Arts gave me endless registration issues so has Vimeo, I actually have two Vimeo accounts with the same name, I cannot access the first one! Lol!:w00t:

Been there, done that, LOL. Already created a second account with another e-mail address of mine yesterday (the same thing happens, or rather, DOESN'T happen): zilch confirmation e-mail. Choosing the "forgot my password" option doesn't work either, since a notification automatically appears that the account has not been confirmed yet and the password thus cannot be sent. I can't contact Daz Support either, since you FIRST have to log in to do so. *groan/eyesroll* Also, the Zendesk contact telephone number doesn't work. Exasperating! They still have me running around in circles, whether I like it or not. LOL

So does anyone have Decimator working?

It appears to not come with it... but it is there... and also, on the store, that's the old version.

There was an earlier beta of Daz Studio 4 Pro that had it in there, but I guess it's not there now. Oh well. Darn, that would've been WAY too useful.

Now I'll have to find something that can reduce the polycount while maintaining all the data from the FBX. (Balancer won't do this.)

Clicking on "Forgot my password" results in this message: "We can send you a code via e-mail to allow you to change your password for daz3d.com and artzone.com. Please enter your email address in the box below.
Email Address:"

After typing in my E-mail address and clicking "go", I then get this message: "Your account had not yet been confirmed, so we sent you another copy of the confirmation email. Follow the instructions in that email to respond. If you continue to have any troubles, please contact us."

After clicking on the blue-underlined "contact us" link (since I am NOT getting any confirmation emails -anywhere- at my email account), I then get this message: "Zendesk Support Migration
Because we care about our customers
---
You must be registered and logged in to access the support pages.
Please log in or create an account."

Could someone please pass the above information on to Daz so they can understand the predicament I'm in? I'll gladly give you my e-mail account in a private message. Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah it's installed alright... but disabled.

They don't give you a serial number for each, just the one.

It's under the PRO bundle so it SHOULD work, right?

I did what you suggested and it then says to restart. After restarting, it says that I don't have the serial number so it still doesn't show up.

Out of ALL the plugins there, WHY that one... one of the most useful ones for me... fish cans!

DAZ Says they're working to fix this issue, so I hope it works out.

@Hutch - I remember when I first set up a DAZ account, the same thing happened, it took me about 3 days to get the email to come through. I tried so many things, I don't remember what actually worked, but I can confirm that you are not alone in this problem!

yeah if you have the Digmi dev kit then the serial should activate the plugin ..

Anyone wanting to use the Goz (go to Zbrush) or Photoshop plugins will have to wait till Daz fix some problems with them...

oddly enough though, that's the only thing fromt he kit that doesn't work. Both FBX and texture atlis work just fine.

Plus if it weren't in the Pro bundle I wouldn't say anything. (aniMate 2, therefore specifying it as a seperate plugin.)

I don't wanna sound like a rusty grill complaining and all when it's free, I'm just trying to see what's working and what's not.

I'll just go and get Decimator, but the store page says that's for DAZ Studio 3, so I'd hate to get it just for it not to work.

I think the decimater plugin for DS3's serial works in DS4, I asked about it too but no-one has said much on the forum.
It is an extra.
Plenty of stuff in pro otherwise, Animate2 being the other extra.
As you said, it is free, I paid for a lot of stuff that is included plus DS4Advanced and I am not complaining!
Hutch, they may be swamped, you have some time, do not panic yet, it took me 6 days to get my DS4A serial when I got that.
If you have no luck by next week, I will pass on your email to support but I never hear much from them either over issues I have had, usually the forum my source of help, that goes for Reallusion too BTW!
Had major issues with iC4 after a system restore and partial uninstallment stopping reinstallment that used up nearly all my goes! Support was NO help and I sent some VERY angry emails!
A friend with IT skills got into the registry for me and manually removed it all which fixed it, the registry clearing program Reallusion sent me did not work.
So sorry, do not trust any software company support terribly much, inc Daz as well, forums are usually VERY helpful, Daz has a great forum BTW.

Hold the hams. Here I am just about ready to accept the fact that it's NOT included... and then you say you got it working??

Wait... I saw your post on the DAZ forum... You have the dev kit, correct? If that's the case, then this may be why it's working... although if that's the case, I don't know why they put it in the pro bundle when it's not a part of it... thaniks for misleading me DAZ... oh well.

I'm still happy what's there is free... gues I just won't be bringing these kids into iClone rigged... fishsticks.

Yes I used the DEV kits serial to get it working ... I "THINK" the plug in is one of the few that are stil sold seperate..

I have to ask a really a couple stupid questions and that is:

1. What aspect of Daz studio and the like.....work with Iclone ?

2. If there is not a direct cross over then how/why would you use it ?

No need for indepth info. - that I can learn on my own (if needed) but just a general explanation would be great - thanks - just curious.

If you have DAz studio pro and 3dexchange you can create and export FBX files of the characters you make along with animations that can be used in Iclone .. they will not use Iclone motions though..

And let's not forget that the models are high poly... kinda why I'm bummed about decimation at the moment.

I suppose you could just export the obj, reduce it, and rerig it with the iClone rig that comes with 3DX Pro and use that and then you CAN use iCLone motions.

if you do not use 3dxchange and buy ALL your content from the Reallusion store,
then
other programs sucj as Daz studio, Hexagon, Bryce and for that matter Google Sketchup and the 3D warehouse are of no use to you.
If you do use 3Dxchange then,
Daz studio can be used to export Daz & Poser content such as figures and props, the latter needing only 3dx2, there is alot of free stuff at sharecg as well as Daz 3D.
Hexagon is a powerful 3D modeling program.
Bryce is a powerful terrain, landscape generator, terrains can be exported or beautiful background pictures and videos created to use in iClone.
AND
at the moment they are free,
so even sillier question,
why would you not want them?

@dreamcube, the reducer brush in meshmixer is pretty hot, dunno if you can use that in your pipeline. But worth looking at.

Thanks a zillion for passing on the comforting news, Wendy. Let's hope it's just a delayed confirmation e-mail and nothing more. If not, you can bet your bottom Euro I'll be back next week complaining about this badly-timed stroke of misfortune. :D
Am all the more frustrated after seeing in this thread that 3dXchange5 is now in the Beta stage (the preview video alone makes getting my hands on Daz Studio 4 Pro an absolute MUST!).

this is a creative way to make your own personalized morphs without using morph addons or morphs++ for V4 or M4, a lot more work, but free at the moment.

Genesis can wear all of M4, V4 &K4 clothes using autofit.
Other figures such as M4 &V4 can be right clicked and morph follower used
there are some free stand alone morphs created by people on sharecg and Renderosity
there is a freebie list in a sticky in the general freepository on the Daz forum.
also
Optitex has many dynamic clothes freebies

using "send to Hexagon" if you have Hexagon installed
(also free at the moment)
