Hi
I have been looking at Iclone and Daz3d for a couple of years and the software is certainly improving very quickly.
I am looking to embark on a fairly expensive project where I want to use "lower end priced software" to create a movie at least 80, possibly 90 minutes in length. The render speed on iclone is amazing compared to Daz but Daz does seem to have better quality renders and the models are very very good. Does anyone have any opinion on what way I should go for my "core platform"?
Also, I am looking for a couple of excellent developers/animators in Iclone/daz to price up some work. Where is the best place to locate these people?
Thanks
Stu New Zealand

Hi, have a look at this video. It´s made with iclone5 and got a lot of laudatory remarks. Perhabs it will help at your "core" decision

Hi Stu Daz is excellent for still image renders but its render times even then can be long. For animation with several characters, render times will be immense and could be in days rather than hours. iClone works in realtime meaning what you see is what you get. This makes setting up your scenes much easier. Render times will be tiny compared against Daz and if you add in the easy way you can animate your avatars using stock motions or puppeteering profiles its really a no brainer as far as I'm compared. Now you might say I'm biased, but I originally switched to iClone from using Poser/Daz because you can achieve in minutes what can take days in those products. :)

I started with Daz back before version 1 and until recently I was happy with it. I dropped my membership in December because of the direction Daz is going. I don't feel it can do the animation of iClone and I find it easier for the pictures I do. iClone doesn't have the full detail of Daz Characters but I like to do mainly scenery with just a few characters for the plot. If you need the detail of Daz Graphic its still good but if you want to get into animation stick with iClone.

It need not be an either or choice, the basic Daz studio is free, there are lots of freebies to use on sharecg, Renderosity and Content Paradise as well as the paid content and a lot of the props can be exported as obj and opened in 3dx and exported to iClone. Figures can too using the paid fbx exporter plugin. You can just use both! I myself use Carrara most of the time because I like pretty HD scenes with lots of detail but again such scenes can be then used in iClone as video Backgrounds. Go for the strengths of each, even Bryce which is far too slow and tedious for me (Bryce5 is free) can be used for making beautiful backgrounds, iClone's strength is quick easy actor animation and speech, sets for those actors can indeed use backdrops with foreground props and a feature I have yet to utilize, pop video insertions.

There is a couple of forum members that have done long projects in iClone, so it is feasible. As to recruiting animators/developers, this forum is as good a place as any to ask. People have done that in the past with details then worked out through PMs (you may need a minimum number of posts to use PMs).

sw00000p (1/5/2012) To maximize iClone's Real-Time Renders is... Texture Baking!
Once you learn to"Optimize UV'S" and Texture Bake... You'll NEVER waste your money on that Hi-Res... Ah... Stuff!
With Proper Textures and Lighting... The Results are often better than DAZ! And Renders FAST!
If People Took The Time To Learn About UV'S.... DAZ Would Go Out Of Business! Increasing Poly Count... Is Your Worst Enemy! NEWBIE MISTAKE! _____________________________________________________________
EDIT: There LOTS of Lazy People... So Daz Will NEVER gO OUT OF BUSINESS!
Hey Swoop, Post an optimized texture map so we can actually see what you mean.

Couldn't resist the urge to ask RL for more tools! The rather "Harsh" method works, as it brings out those I've insulted! Their Voice, is what RL listens to!
Result: One day iClone will definitely have better uv tools! with luck, the long time "Pretty Picture" Makers, who know "Nothing" about uvs...:P Can Texture Bake In iClone!
And for the fist time... See iClone's Game Engine Render(er)... "Kick Butt":w00t:

I'm sorry, but for me personally, I am yet to see anthing in Iclone that even comes close to rendering like Daz Studio or Poser, especially the characters. Animation, yes, render quickly, yes, but you can bake your texture all day, an none of the Iclone characters or props even come close to a V4 or M4 or the new gensis series render in DAZ or Poser. If you want cartoony looking characters and scenary, animation speed, and quick rendering then go with Iclone 5. But if your looking for more anatomically correct characters in your project, you can really customize, physically, anyway you want, a much larger community with massive amounts of props and accessories to choose from, and top knotch textures that look amazing in your film, your better off with DAZ Studio and Poser 2012; and then, animating in a program like Lightwave, 3D max, Cinema 4D and so on. Longer rendering yes, but if it's good enough for the pros it should be good enought for you making a 90 minute feature. So get a soda, go see a movie with that hot date. But your project will look a helleva lot better to me in the long run than anything Iclone can produce in the short run. This program is not on that level yet. There is not a Hollywood Studio functioning that will use a Iclone renders in serious Visual Effects composition. I don't care how detailed you make it with normal maps, or bake your textures with an external program. But plenty have use DAZ characters and props to replicate actual people in the background of shots, and compositing characters to do stunts where close ups are not needed of the primary actors, or people being eated by alien, or designing creatures. I know because I do it. Hence why I never have time in these forums to hang out. I don't use any part of Iclone for that. I use Iclone in a story board capacity in hashing out shots and actions. It is ideal for that level of instant visualization. But just because a program renders fast doesn't mean it can rival top professional results. And if your talking about a 90 minute feature, hopefully your not just doing it for fun, but intend to make a real profit off it or procuring investors dollars to take it to the next level and your using Iclone to give them an idea of what your trying to do. Right now, name one animated feature film you paid or anyone else has paid money to see using Iclone 5 or any previous version? See my point. But their are loads of veterans of the program who can tell you everything techie you need to know about the program. And that fine, if you want to teach. But if your making a feature film for profit, your going to have to take it up a few notches my friend. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm yet to see it done with Iclone despite being a faster rending program and by those who know it inside and out, and bashing DAZ and Poser rendering capabilites. There is no comparison to me. So it sound to me if your considering a 90 min animated movie, I would ask what are you striving in terms of its over all appearance first, and then use the program that delivers the look and professional results you want. Iclone is idea as a storyboard creator and perfect for hashing out everything in the movie from start to finish, but going pro where someone will actually pay to see it. I don't think so. Iclone shorts, some look nice, most are crap. Compare the one above with this short that landed a FOX DEAL, and a live action movie negotiation as a director for this animator. Take note of the characters and the over all look of this short. Their is one shot, that looks a lot like Angelina Jolie with a short hair cut when she smiles. Pretty clear to see who could play that part. http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/film/fox-turning-animated-scifi-short-rosa-liveaction-movie.html?utm_source=scribol&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=scribol, This is your competition. Your story telling and animation better be this dam good for 90 minutes for what this guy did in 10 minutes and landed a movie deal. This is where it's at, unless you want to just teach Iclone 5, instead of being a real bonafide film maker. Good luck with your project and I wish you much success.

And yes, I know no one has made a feature film using DAZ or Poser exlcusively, what I am saying is because of their better looking renders, things have been use from those programs in major production pipelines because of their high render quality wtihout purchasing an external program to bake textures.

I would guess the Hobbyist Home Consumer "Average iCloner" could be compared with the average Home Hobbyist Consumer NLE Editor, who doesn't use Avid Media Composer for Editing Home Movies. Nor do they use Windows Moviemaker. iClone is an affordable Hobbyst Home Consumer Product, for those who want to Produce their own Vrtual Films, rather than producing Edited pre-Recorded Video, that are more realistic than MovieStorm & less realistic tham AutoDesk Products. That being said, in expert & artistic hands, iClone is capable of producing some pretty realistc true-to-life Films. iClone is a huge & versatile Program that has many Applications other than Film-making. Eg; Virtual Classrooms. TV Advertising etc. iClone is a Tool to be used as a means to an end. It's how you use the Tool that matters. But you need ro learn the Program from cover to cover, first. (Which I have yet to do). If you don't rate iClone, then don't purchase it in the first place;) Those who detract iClone are a very small minority. The majority like it. If they didn't, Reallusioin wouldn't remain in business. I've yet to see a watchable Film produced in iClone or another Program by iClone detractors. The fact that they haven't produced one, suggestrs to me that they don't have the expertise, in thr first place:ermm: Actions speak louder than words - So get on with producing those Films, using iClone.. Amen;)

Ahhhhh, man your still my friend, really I'm not that serious :) I just wanted that poster to consider both sides of the spetrum depending on how he wants his overall project to look, then make a decision. An by know means am I knocking Iclone 5. I love this dam program to death, but not in a professional capacity, as of yet. Only in the storyboard capacity in which I use it. But a 90 minute animated movie is serious time this guy is investing, so he might as well get it to look exactly the way he wants it. If it's for fun, then its not an issue. But he is asking for talented animators and thats going to cost him. So much for "just for fun," huh? I knew you would like that short. Pass it on. Very inspiring and Iclone 5 is a great start in that direction for those who do not have high end software to work with, but envision that level of skill in the future, be it with Iclone as it grows, or a highend package of their choice. Take care.

Actually over 2 to 3 years ago when I started using iClone somewhat intermittently on mt craptop that it did not play well with, there WAS a brilliant iClone sci-fi series by a German group, Prodybeat called "Suranos" no-one here seems to know about. It disappeared from the web altogether, there is about 3 forum references (I searched) I wish I knew what happened.
Maybe they moved on and are now famous animators and do not wish to be associated with their early work!!! :D

Colour, I am not criticising your art, it is nice but have you looked at the Galleries on Deviant Art, Renderosity etc Daz and Poser may not be used a lot for animation but one thing it does do well is CG Art! Then there are other software suites such as Vue and of course Sw00000p could point out a fair few more high end ones..

@kankh I find it interesting that out of all the shorts you could have picked done by other softwares, you picked one that actually could be done in iclone. Of course, Rosa was not made with a single software alone. So when I say with iclone I mean iclone for the main part and a compositing software like Hitfilm ultimate or after effects to polish it.

I'll do the Devil's Advocate if you don't mind ;) (not sure if this expression sounds the same in english as in french but I count on you to correct me)
If 'they' haven't produced one yet, it is mostly because 'they' use something else.
The fact is that iClone suffers from some technical limitations, wich one has to workaround in order to be able to achieve quality that can be compared to other 'high-end' tools.
Among those limitations: no linear workflow (no pre/post gamma correction), insufficient antialiasing, limited material/uv/lighting/shadowing system, too low mesh resolution/no subdiv (artefact easily noticable in HD even with normal maps applied), very poor DOF quality, weird 'Tone Mapping' system, no separate rendering channels, etc.. to name a few.
Those limitations have nothing to do with the talent of the artists, I've seen some movies made with iClone in wich you can feel some great talent in terms of art design, camera work or direction. But the 'end product' still suffers from those technical limitations, and knowing the program cover to cover won't solve those issues. For this you have to go 'far beyond' iClone technics.
So it's not as 'black & white' as you picture it, some of 'us' seems to 'detract' iClone in apparence because those limitations could relatively easily be fixed from a developper point of view, but in fact 'we' like iClone, for the machinima concept, we are just eager to see the rendering system beeing revamped as the animation system has been.
I don't complain anymore about the animation system in iClone, so for this part, that's a Go.
Next, the renderer ;)
Cheers, Guy.

My 2 cents, before this topic disappears,I clone is probably more convenient for those of us who do not own those super-powered computers costing over $2 grand. Then I think,Iclone 4 or 5 is reasonably the best choice to render decent,if not spectacular, short movie/animations,and in a shorter time than Poser/Daz. Iclone 4 & 5,used by the real "pros"can really produce some very impressive 3Dmovies or animations. The so called "purists" will argue in favor of Daz for those highly detailed feature-like movies, but they will rarely mention the long tedious rendering times, and the $1,000 software, and post-production they had to use to come up with something impressive, not spectacular.:P

Well, it's vital to also point out that there is animation and then there is animation.
I've seen some animation packs offered for Poser or Daz. Walking. Running. And that's about it--really! You simply cannot tell a story with these rudimentary movements.
Between the great storytelling clips that come embedded with iClone and the phenomenal libraries available as add-ons, iClone blows everything else way out of the water.

Hi Pau
I think you have missed the point of the Daz animation sets for Animate2 , if you own most or all of the sets you can create nearly any animation you can think of . All the tools are there, it may be a bit fiddly at times but Iclone also suffers from that. If you get to know the Daz animation tools it can be nearly as competent as Iclone. Iclones stands out in character interaction with other characters.
I will stick with Iclone for animation any day but Daz can do it and do it better than Iclone because of the tools available. One click can send your mesh to Zbrush and back again, this means your morphs look perfect, skin folds where it should . Its hard work and expensive but it does put Daz in a area Iclone can not reach just yet..

Well, this may be true, but the elephant which then remains in the room, which nobody is willing to talk about, is that animation is hard. And good animation is LOTS harder than bad animation.
It is ultimately in this context that I propose the good quality in the readymade animation for iClone is so important!
And by the way, maybe I shouldn't be surprised that people don't get it... because... the thing I haven't been able to understand ever since iClone 4 and its add-on motions appeared is what is happening to all those great storytelling motions... because I just don't think I'm seeing them being used much in the shorts people have been producing.
iClone characters seem to spend a $*load of their time running their hands through their hair. And fighting. And dancing. Lots and lots of dancing. :D
Drives me crazy. All this incredible potential waiting to be tapped, and instead people are just slaying dragons and doing the hokey-pokey. :hehe:

Hi folks! I've been watching this and I am so curious:
Who is the "Professor/Doctor"... Is he a friend of mine?;)
Anyway, If someone is going to make a 90 minutes movie with DAZ or Poser, it is going to be a blockbuster in the future. When the animation kids at year 2043 will look at what the ancients were doing, and the computer rings the bell "Animation ready, animation ready"!
Then the remnants of civilization will know how a 90 minute movie rendered with those "remarkable rendering programs" really looks!
But being serious (If I can, no matter how hard it is) I really perceive the lack of estimating power in those iClone detractor minds! iClone5 has very advanced animation tools actually licences from Autodesk, using the MotionBuilder technologies. And for a few bucks!!!!
And render can be good if you take sometime to set your parameters better. mainly lights, camera placement, angles, camera motion, environment and such. But it will NOT take forever to see the results! And also will NOT take all the money from some fat wallets or from some skinny ones! (or highly demanding "professionals" either!)
I've seen some of my students trying to do "super renders" using Max or Maya or XSI and ray tracing rendering.... And they wait for 9 or 12 minutes to see ONE frame.... Yea! One frame!!!!:doze:.... Sometimes DAZ and Poser do that trick too! Test your patience!!!!
And I tell them: "Folks: What about the story? What about the script? A good story, a good animator, does not need Gigas of pixels, and lots of baked textured stuff or lots of mega polys... A good producer can make an outstanding movie with paper, pencil and a stop motion camera.... A bad one can use whatever... Max, Maya, XSI, Pixar, whatever.... and the movie will still be bad!" "Really BAD"!
Would iClone detractors show me please a little 30 seconds of your "outstanding" productions with all the frills and qualities that make George Lucas and Pixar or DreamWorks faint and get pale as a wax candle? :hehe:

I am not even going to bother giving examples anymore! (I have on previous threads like this) I will just enjoy the "heart of death" tome one video I bought from a Youtube favourite and facebook friend made using Daz studio (yet another example I have NOT previoisly mentioned!) I am also thinking of getting "the Nobbit" which is made in iClone if it is available pn DVD have "Sintel" ofcourse that was done with Blender I just enjoy watching CGI animation regardless of the software! And yes I watch all those Pixar productions! And get inspired to at least try a picture render! If "Rosa" hasn't convinced anyone and the Daz/Poser art at Renderosity and Deviant Art pales against Colour's example, i am flogging a dead horse anyway! I never actually knocked iClone but do get a bit stunned when told it is superiour to anything else inc MAX and Maya! Guess fanboys tend to bring out the troll in me! I really AM trying to do more stuff in iClone BTW but keep going back to Carrara because I personally find it easier to do what I want albeit slowly. That is just me though, not an attack, a personal choice. Anything major in the future I do would use multiple softwares anyway including iClone.

@ Wendy My example is a Frame from an Animation, produced at the very beginning of Warlord's Tut. It isn't intended to be an "Artistic" Still Image. There are many effects to be added as we go through the Tutorial, to give that "Film Look". My Post referred to the iClone Default Water Template "As is". IMO, None of the aforementioned Programs can better that realism. Deviant Art pales against Colour's example,

"Really BAD"! ../.. You can write outstanding dialogs and have amazing voice talents but if your final audio if full of noise and you can't hear a thing or if it is so badly mixed that you can't stand to listen the audio track for more than 10 secondes, then end of the 'story'.
It's the same with pictures. You can have outstanding story, actors, animations, etc.. if the picture is badly lit, graded or shows horrible artefacts then the movie experience will be horrible.
So it's first a question of respect to the audience to bring the best quality one can produce, whatever the quality of the story, the animation or the directing, whatever the tool you use.
If not, the movie author will be regarded as a selfish artist inflicting his 'outstanding' creations to the world without much concern for the audience experience.
Ultimately, both aspects *must* be considered obviously, quality of the content and quality of the result, and for this, one has to fight against technical limitations and find workarounds.
This is valid with iClone, Moviestorm, Daz, Max, Maya, Softimage, Houdini, Lightwave, Renderman, CyberStudio, Carrara, C4D.. whatever.
This is what makes good producers. Being concerned by both.
Cheers, Guy.

I see some of my points regarding the so many qualities built into iClone 5, while at te same time offering them at an absolutely incredible low price, overcome the wishful features available in programs much more expensive. I just mentioned a few but true iClone users know all the excellent features found inside Reallusion's STAR, iClone! About other arguments regarding "mandatory" extreme render quality I would ask first: Where is the boumdary between bad, accptable and excellent? Watching one of early movies like Alfred Hitchcock's great movies, or thhe initla Hanna and Barbera's cartoons we ca see noise, scratches, unwanted audio noise, hum and cracks... But the movies are unforgetable despite the technical artifacts. On the other side, we see contemporary movies with absolute "perfection" tecnically speaking, which we will forget in a week or a day, and sometimes we would hope never seen them at all! So..... where are the boundaries? iClone, well used, with a good moviemaker sense can be absolutely satisfying. Why not stop for a while "wishful" thinking and start thinking on doing a good movie with iClone, rather than inmersing ourselves in pointing out what is missing, lacking or totally absent?

This looks like a recurring debate. For some, iClone will never be good enough... I think the required quality also depends on the distribution medium. For a theatrical production, I may need a render farm with 10,000 or so PCs, but other than that, it may be overkill, especially online. Also, you can only strife for the best quality given the tools available. So if that happens to be iClone, then iClone it is. Sometimes technology (or the lack of it) seems to be used as an excuse to not make that film. I use iClone and I do respect my audience. What else can I do?

This looks like a recurring debate. For some, iClone will never be good enough... And it never should be good enough, if it was there would be no Iclone 6 :D Look how far Iclone has come over a very few years .. It did not get to the tool it is today by people saying "You know what, this will do" I recon in the future Iclones real time render feature will be only a option next to a wider set of render tools ..

Fellow iCloners, When synthesizers allowed people without access to orchestras or the talent of professional musicians to create music, we were told that it wasn’t real music or worthy of acceptance by the public. When computers and CGI software first appeared, they allowed people without access to animation studios or the talent of professional animators to create movies. We were told that wasn’t real animation or worthy of acceptance by the public. Ah, the irony of today’s professionals, using synthesizers and CGI software, telling us that work produced by iClone is not real animation or worthy of acceptance by the public. I recently completed a short, THERE BE MONSTERS! which had some success on the film festival circuit, culminating in an award for 3rd place (animation) at the 2011 My Hero Film Festival. Others winning awards at this festival included George Lucas, so I was in good company; but the point is that without iClone, my film would not have been made and I would not have spent a memorable year showing it at film festivals. I looked at Maya, Vue, Carrara and Daz Studio – none were viable in the timeframes which I had for this project. Over the course of the year, I met and spoke to several film-makers, who had the best software, budgets in the millions, and even hopes of Emmy and Oscar nominations. They asked questions about iClone and how we made our movie. All were impressed with what we were able to achieve without high-end software. None of these people dismissed iClone as a hobbyist’s toy. I agree with Mike and Paumanok – for me, the story is paramount. And the quality of the finished product counts for nothing if the product is never finished. Granted, I did not create a 90 minute blockbuster. We are still in the baby step stages, but the work of today is a building block. The software will continue to get better; our animations will continue to get better, and one day we will have this same argument about the next upstart that encroaches on the territory of the professionals. @Tom, excellent post, and congrats, thats AWESOME! :)
one thing i know from experience, marketing is the most important to any hit idea, be it a song or a movie. That is why so many people complain that the music on radio stinks.
Great marketing will sell pet rocks.

Thinking "../..you can only strife for the best quality given the tools available../.." leads to being a slave of the tools. The tools then dictates your art.
It should be the opposite, right ?
Albeit we can't always do miracles with a given tool, imho we always have to "push for more" and find workarounds. Be it iClone, Renderman, Maya, whatever. This is a very valid and respectable attitude.
When you say "../.. iClone will never be good enough../.." in fact this should be your Mantra. And in this sentence you can replace 'iClone' with anything, including 'Softimage', 'Max', 'Maya', etc..
Not being statisfied with a tool does not mean not liking the tool. I think this is the biggest misunderstanding here.
It's just a state of mind, never being satisfied, always pushing for more, for the best quality, be it for the result or for the content, for the story, for the music, for the camera work, the lighting.. anything.
This is with this state of mind that the greatest artists produced their masterpieces, even hundreds of years ago.
But nowadays lot of peoples think having some tools and a 'great story' is enough (granted they do actualy have a great story..). Well, good for them if they are satisfied.
Some other peoples think it's not good enough and they have the right to think that as well.
If only a 'great story' is enough, wouldn't writing books be enough instead ?
A movie is not just a 'great story', a movie has pictures and sounds, I see no reasons why those should be treated with less respect than the story itself.
Cheers, Guy.

grabiller is also correct, every super successful person I met / worked with was obsessed with excellence, they wanted the best of what was available to them, if the best was a program like iclone, then they wanted the best that iclone could give. - but then I've also seen some amazing work get lost in the ocean of releases because no one knew how to market it. I guess the best way to describe it ...is presentation matters ....from story to tools to marketing - people feel the passion behind your work. That mentality, that desire and will to succeed, transcended any tools and was expressed in the way the story was presented, and the passion of which it was marketed. if you read up on walt disney, he told all his ideas with a passion, all he had was paper and pencil, but in the end his passion transcended the paper and pencil.

Interesting point. It may risk forcing a false, unnecessary choice upon us, but it's quite an interesting point... especially for those of us who like to scream Story! Story! :)

Apparition (1/12/2012) ../..iClone, well used, with a good moviemaker sense can be absolutely satisfying. Why not stop for a while "wishful" thinking and start thinking on doing a good movie with iClone, rather than inmersing ourselves in pointing out what is missing, lacking or totally absent?../.. I'm trying Mike, I'm trying.
But I have first to solve some issues I found unacceptables. And I find no point in producing a movie while I have those issues, that's my way of doing things.
The only iClone shots I dare to show for the moment are those multipasses rendering tests from last year:
iCloneMultiPassesTestB.mov https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost51365.aspx
Yet there is no 'good story' here, not even good animations, I was just trying to push the iClone rendering capabilities, and I'm certainly not satisfied with the result because of the mentioned issues.
But once I'll solve those (or once they will be solved by Reallusion/iClone) then I'll be here, you can count on me, and I'll try to do a good movie with iClone.
That's a promise.
Cheers, Guy.

Better to Produce a Good, Bad or Ugly Storyline Film, than none at all, IMO;) I want my money's-worth from my investment in iClone & Content. So, I'll continue Producing Ugly ones.:D The Self-appointed "Artists" can criticize them as much as they like. I don't care;)

It's hard to get understood in this thread, so let me try again. I disagree with the statement that I am a slave of the tools, in this case iClone. What I meant was that I don't have high-end packages it my disposal. I could lament that and not do anything or just go ahead with what I do have. That is different from being a slave, as I see it. Maybe the technology has been a challenge it times, but that's different. Moreover, I use other software besides iClone. For example, sound design is external; music composition is external; video editing is external, graphic design is external, some of the modeling is external. But I don't think that I'm able or need to explain how I work and have worked with technology in art (for over 40 years now), how limitations have shaped my art at times, but never, never, has the technology enslaved me. Of course, you don't have to believe me, that's fine too.

Reminds me of when we were kids, drawing stick men in various poses on small squares of white paper. Stapling them together & then flipping them with a thumb, to get the animation. You could buy stick men Flip Books. planetstardragon (1/12/2012)

Not exactly stick figures, but still fun; a classic really, the first in a series (La Linea). Now he may have been somewhat limited by the tools he used, but that didn't bother him.

RB3006 (1/5/2012) Hi, have a look at this video. It´s made with iclone5 and got a lot of laudatory remarks. Perhabs it will help at your "core" decision
Greets Robert GermanyHi Robert, I agree with your request in updating iClone 5 with better collision detection. It always makes the animation looks less when props and clothing and hair are always poking through the avatar... Don't know why.. Reallusion knows what collision detection is... They use it with physics! But I've put this issue at many forums but never getting an answer from Reallusion.
