I realize CT 5.0 may have some changes in this regard, but if not (or even if so :>) one thing that could improve CT would be to have a randomly seeded head and eye blink movement for every animation.

As it stands now, in order to generate multiple characters using multiple passes, you end up with all of your characters with the exact same shoulder/head and eye blinks, as if they are coordinating synchonized dancers (this is true even if you put eye and head movements in the timeline -- during the times in between movements the default behaviors are the same).

There is a workaround -- you can insert silence into your .WAV file so the two characters lines aren't the same length and then trim in post, but this is a PITA (especially if you forget to do this initially).

Thanks for your nice suggestion.

There are similar requests about the movement of the avatar.
Now, the default movement is still limit, as you mentioned, that will make multiple heads look like the same one.

The team is still working to make it more flexible (e.g. you can have your avatars stop blinking or set different rates for blink).

Is there a way to get multiple characters to talk? What's the process, I don't see any!

A nice feature would be multiple character timelines, or at least 2 or 3, as that is the norm for a scene.

How do you do it now, aside from rendering one character then rendering another, then stitching the scenes together via split screen? Am I missing something here?

As I know CrazyTalk5 will enhance the standby motion.
Also you can create your own.

It is not possible to have two talking heads on screen at the same time in the current version of Crazytalk (4.6).

Achieving this effect has to be done during post-processing using a video editor.

Yes, as Peter says. Sorry if my topic was misleading, but if you read my orginal post you'll see where I say I do multiple passes with CT for multiple characters.

The problem is that even with multiple passes (and combining in post) you end up with identical random head and eye movements. The workaround is to seed some "pause" time at the beginning, but this makes keeping track of things a PITA. If the random movements were truly random (that is, the head and eye movements were different for each pass) then it wouldn't be a problem.

How do you put the two people together like that, is there a tutorial somewhere? I assume you are making the two talk on their own CrazyTalk video then splicing them together somehow? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It really depends on which video editor you use when it comes to tutorials. Your best bet would be to do a search on Google or any other search engine for split screen tutorials using your video editor. As an example the link below points to a split screen tutorial for Adobe Premiere. Although it is a 4 screen tutorial the process is much the same.

You should also check out tutorials on using the "Green Screen" method for overlaying one video on another video which is a very useful technique to master. Below is an example tutorial.

It is a bit of messing about but you can do multiple voice syncs ny exporting into a video effects software that supports blue screening (chromakeying) its a bit long winded but works okish...

as here ..wouldnt work as link though so only cut and paste url...
