Yes, I adjust all those settings when making sets.
The single sided option works fine, but there IS something nice about the double sided fall off shadowing, though the quality ripples strangely panning across buildings when the cam angle changes. It kind of adds a mysterious depth to the building; kind of softens and darkens, but the rippling is predominant.
The buildings had the double sided option pre-checked when I imported them into the scene. Had me completely foxed for a while. I remembered the Cathedral with the flags that were accidentally embedded in the wall and for an age it puzzled me as to what I had perhaps mis-set that would cause this.
The shadows are, of course, self cast. Everything works fine in single. Just that double had me foxed because I didnt realise even though the far side is shielded from direct light being internal, that it would respond in this fashion.
