I wonder someone can help me out. I created a new face using one of the default faces available in iClone. I can not seem to cut the seam at the throat to make the skin seamless with the body. I followed the direction in the manual. But that doesn't seem to work. Can anyone suggest what I can do?

Thanks

Hi,

Try this:

1-Select the actor
2-At the top, in the buttons below Project, Stage, Set, Actor, on the right side, select Skin
3-In the Modify Panel on the right side of the screen go down to Material & Texture Settings
4-In the drop down menu, under Select Material: - select the Face
5-A little ways below that select the box "Affect All Materials"

This should set all skin tones the same as your new face.

Hope this helps.

For the seam to completely disappear, you need 2 conditions:

1) As explained by the Mythical dragon, my guess is that you are using Newlook Avatars. these where delivered with the Diffuse color to grey on the skin (as opposed to pure white). When you appliy a head, iClone takes the average color of the top left 10x10 pixel of your new face texture and applies this skin tone to the entire body skin. The reason you see a grey line is because the Newlook characters have the diffuse color set to grey on all other skin body parts and that this attribute does not get transferred to the head. You can correct this in 2 ways: a) Turn the Skin Diffuse color to pure white and apply to all material or leave it to grey and apply to all material. This skin color should have been set to pure white in the original character to avoid this problem.

2) The second condition is more difficult to achieve but if you started from the original face texture, perhaps you may not have this issue:  You must ensure that the color of the Neck Ring around the head Seam on the new face texture is exactly the same as the average color of theTop left 10x10 Pixel on Face texture.

If you meet those 2 conditions, and only of you meet those two conditions will the seam completely disappear.

Hope this helps. Smile
