Alright. So it's been awhile, cards have gotten cheaper... but most importantly, the Unreal engine (including the free one) can... oh, just ... look and you'll see what I mean. That's ALL realtime... Subsurface scattering... in realtime as well. ...need I say more...? So uh... again, DX11 support would be awesome.

And YES, I konw most people don't want to upgrade right away (or do they) and I know story is what counts, not graphics... but if you have a good story coupled with this, that'll just make thigns MUCH better. Also I've heard people talking about wanting higher polycounts on things, this should work great with that. If not DX 11, just any graphical improvements in general re welcome as always. I don't think iClone is using all of what DX9 has to offer just yet. Oh well, just thought I'd let people know what's goin' on.

wow, thats amazing, thanks for sharing!! To be honest on the IC upgrade stuff, it's a perfect entry level software for learning 3D, if we add too much too fast, it kills the biggest feature that makes iclone such a pleasure to use, simplicity. From my research so far, there is no best 3D package, there are just packages that are best at something specific. One advice I remember from a business book I once read is, the best way to corner a market is to go to where the competition is not. None of the competition is anywhere near as easy and efficient to use as Iclone and still look so great. Cheers.

True. but no one said the software had to get more complex. The features could be thigns that run in the background like the graphic updates. I'd say the only software that's easier than tis is Lumion... and that really doesn't count because. you can't do anything but make worlds in it.

thats true too, maybe it might be nice for iclone to then incorporate a plug in system so we can have options to enhance the software , yet keep a stable and light main software ? then advanced users can get plug ins - knowing it may weigh down the software as opposed to making it part of the base software ? for instance this would give us a chance to have an advanced animation plug in with physics....for iclone or even a V Ray like plug in for those who don't mind spending days rendering...... Or just keep it light and communicate other software. would be nice to have a plug in that plugs in to messiah, the way messiah plugs into lightwave. I thought that was a very cool feature in messiah. I would love to quickly build and texture sets and rough sketch animations in iclone, port them to messiah and tweak the animations, then port it to lightwave for rendering ...that would give me a chance to give mr spielberg a run for his money without going to years of animation school!! lol

WEll it's not that you have to go through years of animation school, it's that yu have to go through weeks of rendering and other work arounds. I heard there's suppose to be some sort of scripting system int he next version. That'd be awesome because then other plugins could be made for iClone which would give it a LOT more functinos. There's actually a thread set in this forum that asks what other software we'd like integrated with iClone... So far I'm like the only one who posted in it... so can't say that went very far. Oh well, we'll see.

I'd say it's more important to just keep improving Iclone, than worry about plugging it in to other softwares.
If Iclone 5 has direct x 11, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat.

I agree. For games, this doesn't make much sense to make all games use this as everyone needs to be able to run them. But if you are the only one who's going to run it just so you can render, I don't see a problem with working on support for this.
