Hello,
I'm having some trouble in finding out how to import BVH Animations from ipiSoft into iClone 8.
Before my workflow with iClone 7 was to convert the BVH animation thorugh 3dxChange and importing it into iClone.

Eventually I found this tutorial: https://manual.reallusion.com/Character-Creator-4/Content/ENU/4.0/09-Pipeline/Converting_a_Human_Motion_to_iClone_iMotion.htm
But after Step 4.2 nothing is happening and the window that is supposed to pop up is not showing up?
If I'm exporting my animation from ipisoft as an FBX I'm facing the same problems.

If I'm using 3dxchange and iClone 7 there are no problems with importing the animations - so I tried to use a workaround. I saved the animation in iClone 7 as a iMotion.Plus file and tried to load it onto the character in iClone 8 without any luck.
I tried a few things, but i honestly don't know what to try anymore.  Am I missing something in the characterization window or is there something missing from the manual that I am supposed to just know?

I'd be really thankful for anyones help!

Hi...

In Step 4.2 you need to have a character loaded and then you drag the original motion onto it. If you do this you should see the message box shown in step 4.3.

Then in Step 4.4 under Motion Profile load the Profile you saved in Step 3.2.

Do try this and see if it works for you (it's working fine for me).

Hi,

thanks so much for the fast reply!
I reloaded it on a character and was indeed able to import the animation on to the character.. BUT sadly the animation looks really weird.
In the original motion the actor was walking forward normally but as you can see the character interprets it as sideways and the joints bend in the wrong direction.

I checked the bone mapping again but I didn't switch it up. I don't really understand why the bone mapping with 3dxchange went so unproblematic and this workflow doesn't seem to work for me right now.

I would be very thankful for any help! Smile
