There is an iClone DAZ Freak starter bundle that has the Freak character already converted to a non-standard iClone character. The pack is here: http://www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/iclone/pack/Daz_Freak5/default.aspx. I don't know if that would make things easier.

Thank you Tutor. I solved the boots problem by starting with the boots then adding the character to the scene in DAZ. I then fitted the character to the boots. Backward but worked great! The imported "Freak 5" character now can perform leg motions without the boots floating off into outer space. Although I successfully navigated the operation I was not able to duplicate it. I do not consider I have "learned" anything unless I can duplicate the procedure. So before I can proclaim mastery of the process I will have to duplicate it (and record it) more.

Thank you, thank you very much. I did not state I was using iClone 6.

I did encounter another problem. I did not add clothes but changed all the skin (except head and hands) to chrome. I then changed all the chrome surfaces to black (7 degrees above zero). However, when I imported from 3DX the skin was chrome. I did another work-around by changing the chrome to black in 3DX. This worked fine and I got a black chrome effect which is what I wanted. My question is how do I export from DAZ to 3DX with the DAZ surfaces parameters being visible in 3DX? As a "newbie" I did not find a black chrome setting.
