There are free pose corrective morphs which may to some degree alleviate joints deformations: https://forum.reallusion.com/386118/Pose-Corrective-Morph-Sliders-Free-DownloadBut those are only useful for applying a specific pose to characters and certainly should not be baked. I was successful converting some of them to iClone morphs and applying them manually on the timeline while animating characters. But that is quite time consuming routine where you compensate every other joints bent with a morph.

I was talking to a guy about this.
He mentioned cascadeur. It has rigid body with mass & physics , he said it may stop the folding.
He also recomended C4d which has features to stop this on meshes.
He was a bit too technical for me. I know very little about skeletons & weights etc.
Long shot but u can check it out.
