I would like it if there was a way to animate iClone 3d models, and props, using custom bone rig setups. This way there would be a way to animate props from 3dXchange. I'd also like it even more if there was a custom weighting system for the custom bone rigs, so anyone could animate anything (whether it's a human, non-human, or even a mythical creature with four legs, or 3, maybe even 6 legs, or any amount of arms or legs, or even any amount of heads).

Thanks in advance. I hope this becomes a feature someday soon.

EDIT: sorry for posting in the wrong place, my mistake. Please can someone move this to an appropriate place on this forum (probably under iClone). Thanks

It's called Spore :-)

But I have Spore, and sometimes I use it. It's fun and all, but I read somewhere in another post of someone else talking about bringing Spore creatures into iClone, using 3ds Max, but I don't have 3ds Max, I have Maya, and Ultimate Unwrap Pro, which I think I saw somewhere in the same topic being talked about, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I just wish iClone had a custom creature builder and custom animator for the creatures, sort of like Spore, except it would be built into iClone.
I knew Spore could make cool creatures, and animate the parts, I just wish that iClone could do something similar natively right in iClone. Thanks for the heads up though.

Has my topic been moved? If so, where has it been moved?

Hi ,

If you have maya :

spore in english> export > import .dae in maya > export .fbx > import in 3dxchange4 > make your iavatar .

I don't test , but why not work ?

First of all, I don't have a clue of how you export a Spore creature right from the game.
Second of all, I have 3dXchange2, not version 4.

Will it still work that way with Maya, Ultimate Unwrap 3d Pro, and 3dXchange2?
(I have those three programs/software, plus Spore).

Thanks!

A complete Spore > Maya > iClone tutorial. You do need 3Dxchange 4 Professional, though:

The tutorial says that Maya 2010 is needed, but do you think Maya 2009 would work as well?
I only have Maya 2009 currently.
