Hi - I'm new to using Headshot and can't find how to set up Headshot so it sends image planes/images etc. to photoshop for editing and brings them back in automatically. Thanks!

You have to do that manually from within CC.

Is there a preference setting or something I'm missing? I can't seem to find a way to do it manually  in CC.

First thing that you need to do is to select the path to your image editor .exe file in the Preferences panel:

Once that's done you can now send images directly to your image editor either from the Headshot panel or the Materials modify panel by clicking on the "Launch" icon shown in red below. This will open your image editor and load the image file. Saving the file after adjustments will update it in CC.

One tip: it is best to optimize your image before applying it in Headshot. Make sure lighting is even and hairdo is not covering the face too much.

Without getting too technical, the skin color of the body is deduced from that of the head. If you edit the face texture later, you may get mismatches.

Especially if you use SkinGen, which modifies the skin materials in various ways, editing the head texture afterwards can be tricky.

You can make adjustments to the head texture generated by Headshot (as shown in the Headshot panel) and that will update all body materials properly most of the time. However, that needs to be done before making any SkinGen modifications.
