Thanks for the reply; there were hints about the upcoming version in the last webinar I watched, I was just wondering if there'd been if any "coming features" might have been mentioned somewhere.

I think this could be the current CA4 related features.
Most people's budgets were a little shaken at the end of last year.
In my opinion, do not rush for CA5. Let CA4 update.
If they say 50 dollars right now, I can't afford to buy it Smile

At this point, I'd be happy if they found a way to not make the actor teleport around when applying motions to them.

I am not sure your mean, but if you have a character position issue, you can try this way:
  1. right-click the clip
  2. reset the motion clip pivot
  3. apply another motion.
This is my testing:

I’m new to Cartoon Animator, but in my playing around I have found a few things I would really love. All of which have already been mentioned, but hey, maybe another mention will help!

  • Support for svg
  • Library search (please!)
  • Reverse Animation on motion clip
  • Hair physics
  • Particle effects
  • Light sources and shadows (Although I can see that it would be difficult)

In the meantime, I’m having fun getting to know the software and slowly work on designing my own characters in Affinity Photo.

In addition to the above (especially SVG)...
  • Set origin of an object so it can be resized from the corners, not the centre.
  • Resize image prop to the exact size of the safe area.
  • Content Manager search and filter.
  • Content Manager - hide parts you will never use.
  • Set world axis.
  • macos standard hotkey zoom support (cmd+, cmd-)

A better manual with a better search function. Don't assume newbies know what you're talking about.
A proper index.
Slow tempo down of entire project. Motion and sound.
Scene Manager: No automatic expanding.
Turn transition points on or off.
Control bar should always work as start/stop no matter what you click on or what window you open.
Playbar should be attached to floating timeline.
Be able to create props in composer mode.

  • Definitely a search in the content manager
  • Hoping the content management system of IC8 is built into CTA5, for downloading and installing content packs/addons.
  • Better compatibility between different content packs
  • Overall Skin colorizing - disparate content packs all have different skin colors, so building a character from the different packs doesn't allow for consistent coloring
  • A character creator instead of individual components
    • Allowing to adjust size of limbs, torso, head, etc...
    • Content packs automagically added to character creator
  • Get rid of the Vector Groups and Render Styles, and allow coloring of vector elements directly - All vectors
  • Physics and dynamic elements
  • Atmospheric elements (lighting, day/night, shadows, weather, etc...)
  • Particles
  • One of the previous versions had a walk cycle editor, allowing for arm swing, step length, knee height, etc.  Bring that tool back.
  • Content packs for more serious animations such as Anime or animations of a darker nature.

To keep it simple, one important feature for my self personally would be a simple flip function . 2 in fact. A separate one for the body and separate for the head. So far the flip option mirrors your entire character. If I was to have a pirate with an eyebpatch, then you can imagine the inconsistency.
