Hi, I have CA4 pro, and it keeps crashing. I can't find a pattern, as it crashes while I'm doing all kind of things, from the composer, to the stage, the the face mocap plugin. Any suggestions as to how I can avoid this would be great, but really I was wondering if there are any ways of recovering projects I was working on at the time of the crash, so that I don't lose the work done since the last save. Thanks in advance

I occasionally have random crashes myself. Save often! I also recommend occasionally saving as a different version . Like a point 1.2 version just in case the original becomes corrupted.

Sorry to hear about the crashing you are experiencing. As OldSchool already explained, do always save often and always to a new file. Never have just one project file that you keep overwriting. This can lead to a corrupt file. It's also very important to keep projects to a manageable size. It is much better to have several small projects rather than one large project that keeps on growing until it eventually becomes unstable. Just like in professional filmmaking, you can edit all the rendered smaller projects (scenes) together later in a video editor.
