After Googling this extensively I haven't found a single solution to this. I'm wondering if this is a bug in the latest version ? 

I purchased Character Creator 3.41.3008.1 with Headshot plugin. 

I want to import a custom made accessory like a hat. I go to the top menu CREATE > ACCESSORY and there is no .fbx or .obj import option. 
The only option available is .usd .  So I made a mesh in blender and exported it as a .usd file.  It won't show up anywhere in Character Creator at all.  I thought it might be an issue of scale, so I scaled it in Blender and re-imported. It's not there.  It doesn't even show up where all of my scene items are listed.  What's going on ?  Did this feature change in 3.41 ? 

Any help would be appreciated !  Been blocked on this for several hours now.

Do you have the Pipeline edition of Character Creator?

I just clicked on Accessory, and I have .fbx listed at the bottom:

Yes purchased Pipeline and I'm pretty sure I have that installed. I went to "about" and this is what I get:

It looks like you have the right version.

Have you tried the Import under the File menu to see if you can bring it in that way?

If you just installed CC, you might try rebooting and see if that gives you more file type options. Maybe Windows registers those on startup. (guessing).

If the accessory is something you can share, send me a private message and I can try.

I just thought of one more possibility.

Did your purchase come with a product called 3DExchange?

The Pipeline version I bought came with 3DExchange and IClone also.

Maybe you need to install that to get the extra options.

Yes, funny that you mentioned doing a system restart because that's exactly what I just did as you were responding , lol.  

Here's a 60 second video of the problem. I really can't figure out why this is doing this and I seem to be the only one affected !

I purchased iClone but I do not have the paid version of 3DXchange, only the trial version of 3DXchange.  I wonder, does that have anything to do with it ? I wouldn't think so.... CC3 in its own right should be able to handle accessory import as a stand alone feature ( I would think ? )

I guess Reallusion Support might be your best option, but it takes a 1 - 3 days to a response.

Sorry couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone else here knows more than me about this issue.

I can't answer what features are crippled for if you don't own 3DExchange, but maybe that's it.

Pipeline sounds like it should be able to import I agree.

Yeah I went ahead and filed a support ticket.  This will definitely be like those Scooby Doo episodes when you wait until the end to find out what the real culprit is.  I'll make sure to post here after they respond. Thanks for the troubleshooting tips.
