I'm trying to figure out the best way to make an android. As in a human looking robot, not a phone. I started off with combining an AI chassis with a CC3+ character in CC3. It seemed to be working well but when I save the file and open it again, all the mesh changes are gone and the human body is the only thing visible. And if I add anything to the body then I also lose my changes.

I'm wondering if a better approach to solving this problem is through clothing, or decals. Something to give an appearance that part, or all. of the body is a robot. Any suggestions or tips on how to approach this one? Thanks.

Just a thought,  the battle mech series has a robotic appearance and can be manipulated in CC.

Thank you for the suggestion. I really like the battle mech series but I'm thinking it doesn't quite fit for what I have in mind. It gives a great armor appearance and I might purchase it for that purpose at some point. I think I may have found something on DAZ and will be trying that out here soon. If that fails then I might have to once again try to combine the mesh to get the look that I'm after.

I'm not having any luck getting this imported but the more I look at it, I don't think I will be happy with it. I think it is down to finding a really cool robot on CG trader, Turbosquid, or similar. Then import that into CC3 and combine with a CC3+ mesh. Once I get that done, it would be nice to find a way to weld the two meshes together so I can add clothing and not worry about losing my changes.
