Here you can see what Reallusion is working on! Does anyone have more details?

Nvidia's Omniverse looks to be a kick-ass rendering engine/environment in which you can import stuff from other 3D programs (and/or use resources available there) to render your stuff, even in iRay, in Real Time. They also appear to have a game engine for other purposes (I'm not a gamer so I don't follow it). If iClone will support it (not just Character Creator) this could be a game changer - we could set up all our animations in iClone, and then export. Without iClone support it will be less interesting by far.

I just saw this to and I went out and downloaded the Omniverse open beta. I attempted to import a CC3 character but it came over all deformed. LOL i'm still working on it. Can't wait till the connector is out. I hope its a free add-on..

the forum knows that I'm the first one to cheer the RL team on, but sadly they already have a consistent history of making terrible choices when it comes to render engines. we are talking years of consistent disappointment and abandoned projects., ie iray ....it could have been fixed by now for particle effects and water ...this is a critical point that can place RL in a higher tier of animation software...so I'm not doing them or myself any favors by cheering it on... sorry RL , I'm calling this spade in because I'm tired of having half baked render engines. I'm not allowing "beta" to be the excuse as to why it will be missing a ton of features.

For my part, I say let's wait and see, if it works as expected, should be a great thing for all of us, as Mike said, I'll find this interesting only IF Iclone is supported

AFAIK Nvidia controls the development of thier brute force pathtracer Daz has had IRay alot longer than Reallusion and they have not been able to add any features such as motion blur or particles and when a GPU driver update breaks the Iray plugin it is always roll back and wait for NVIDIA to fix it. Omniverse seems like a perfect opportunity for the Reallusion brand/products to be easily integrated into other major platforms for realtime visualization via Universal Scene Description.

Thanks, Peter, for giving us that info. As much as I love the RL universe (and you know I do) this marriage seems made in heaven. The biggest issues iClone has are with its renderer, and it's starting to be left behind by Blender/UE (IOW, a lot of other free options). The UE integration is fine for those folks willing to do a lot of learning, but (at first glance, at least) the Omniverse seems SO much easier to simply use as the end renderer for all iClone stuff. RL would benefit greatly then by concentrating on what it does best - the absolute best animation environment possible, along with character development - and then let others handle the rendering. I can say I've never been more excited about something in animation in a LONG time. But it really needs the iClone piece, so I hope that the devs are going to be fully committed there as soon as the CC3 one is rolled out.

An iClone Omniverse Connector is planned but the first Omniverse Connector will be for Character Creator
1-I hope that the export can be done with the animations made in Iclone (face and body) 2-I hope this engine will be as easy to use as Iclone 3-I hope that we can use the particles of UDK
For my part 90% of my props come from UDK
