Hi All...

Can someone please tell me the trick to get the head in Crazy Talk 8 into Character Creator 3?  I have both programs open, I click the button and nothing! I own the pipeline versions of both programs.

The Headshot plug-in in character creator 3 is far superior than what is included in CrazyTalk 8.

Thanks :)

PS - or a Character Creator 3 head into CrazyTalk. ;)
PSS - Kinda wondering if this program is even necessary since I I have purchased CC3, iClone7 and Cartoon Creator 4.  Seems they all do what this program does but better.  Thoughts?

Hi...

To use a CrazyTalk 8 head in Character Creator 3, please do the following:

1. In CrazyTalk 8 with your 3D Head loaded, click Export RLHead (CTRL+SHIFT+H) from the top toolbar and save the RLHead on your computer..
2. In Character Creator 3 load a CC1 character (It can't be a CC3 or CC3+ character it must be CC1).
3. Drag the RLHead you saved in step 1 onto the CC1 character in Character Creator to apply it.

Please Note: As CrazyTalk 8 is now a few years old you will find you get better results in Character Creator 3 by using the Headshot plug-in.

Thank you Peter.  :)
I was thinking the same with regard to CC3 and Headshot.   I was hoping it was an easy link as going from CC3 to iClone.
I did ask to return this item as it seems between the other 3 programs I purchased, can do what this program does.  It is a pretty cool program and would be a less expensive way for someone to do those type of animations.  I chose the more expensive route LOL... I still want to add the facial mo-cap to iclone but for webcam it is quite the jump in price from Cartoon Creator and it's face cam plug in.  One day LOL.

Thanks again for your help. :)

Hi Michelle

CrazyTalk 8 is still a great way for users new to animation software to create talking characters quickly and easily. For many that is all they want. I personally have had a version of CrazyTalk on my computer for about 15 years and still have fun using it. Where else can you take a picture of your dog or cat and make them talk or sing in a few minutes. :D

However, as you have found, if you want to go to the next level with human characters then Character Creator + Headshot is the way to go. :)

I agree, I can see the use as a stand alone, but I actually purchased the other 3 before Crazy Talk... no wait, I bought Crazy Talk with Cartoon Creator.  I was debating on that or the plug in for the finger gadget for cartoon creator 4, crazy talk was about 100.00 cheaper LOL.

I have been tempted to keep it for some down and dirty fast items, maybe offer another service on Applebite, but to be honest, I would rather take a little more time with the other programs and use that money and buy more animations for iClone and Cartoon Creator.  They are very helpful for someone like me that is learning animation with little patience LOL... Once they get covid under control and business starts to get back to normal, I will buy the mocap devices to do the full body animation... I am SOOOOO looking forward to having that capability.  :)
