I am trying to learn things in IClone have overlooked, at least so I can know if need it or not.

Thanks for any use, I couldn't find anything from a Google search other than about Characters.

What is different about this than a normal box or plane?

Thank you

Ok, thanks. I just haven't seen or don't remember seeing any videos or reading anything about them.

There are things I wish I understood better like how to lie a blanket on top of someone and have the blanket land on their body outline.

I will refer you to a couple of threads:

This one is featuring an extensive Marks' tutorial with iClone Soft Physics and Movements: https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost447592.aspx
I did somewhat similar with that (a bit different technique involved external tools as well): https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost442692.aspx

But in spite of recent development with Alembic import to iClone, I'd give up iClone physics altogether until it offers an easy and reliable soft cloth physics.
This is Marvelous Designer simulation, which can be currently imported to iClone via script, or quite soon with built in function:

Wow! That is really cool.  I will add this to my other things I need to learn.

Thanks
