I'm sure this was covered long ago but I missed it.

Is there anyway to avoid the "trailing" of the Popcorn torch-fire effect? Or any Popcorn effect for that matter?

The flame looks great if it's stationary but as soon as one moves the particle it leaves a "trail". I'm using the PopCorn "Flame" particle from Learning Samples. I've played with pretty much all the adjustments but nothing seem to have an effect on this issue.
I tried making an animation of the flame and mapping it onto a Billboard ( the second part of the animation). That takes care of the "trail" but of course it still doesn't look correct if it's moving.

You can reduce the trail when you minimize the initial speed and the min/max life in the basic attributs

I remember fiddling with this a long time ago, never got it working as good as you did.
Thanx for sharing...

Works great mtakerart! Thanks so much!

I do find I like to add some keyframes to the Popcorn/Basic Attributes/Life Max layer when the "Flame" is at rest and when it's moving. I find the Flame is a little too "frantic" when set to Life Max .04 when it's at rest but .04 is great when the flame is in motion. When the flame is at rest I like a setting of around 2.0 or so...just my preference for what it's worth.

My pleasure !
That's the power of Iclone that everything is keyframable. Keyframing a particles in UDK 4 is a nightmare and you must be a senior
of particles to make keyframable settings.
