After spending many hours creating a character in CharacterCreator... It it so disappointing to have to start over when importing into iClone.

Can we please have a workflow to import into iClone the complete CC file including the character, the pose, and the lighting as it is in CC.

before doing so

that is sending to iclone

save under it's own file format of cc3

click the save button, easy.

this save your character & other settings back within cc3 (I have just tested it)

the important question to ask your self, what you wish to do

1. output the pose with lighting as a jpg file

or

2. use iclone for the extras

as for the same in iclone   no just character only

remember where your locations are in cc3 for the extras, so they can be added to iclone

the poses can be found again in iclone

as for the lighting turn on the create sky and make your adjustments.

This can be done in a few very simple steps. Set up everything as you would like it to be in CC and save the whole thing as a custom project in your Project>Custom>Clothed folder. Exit CC and open Windows Explorer. Navigate to your Character Creator Custom folder and from there copy your newly saved "your saved name".ccProject file to your iClone>Custom>Project folder. Once there rename the "your saved name".ccProject file to "your saved name".iProject file - ignore the warning about changing file extensions when doing this.

Now open iClone and load your newly saved project from your custom folder and everything will be exactly as it was saved in CC. CoolSmoooothSmile

Replacing the Character Creator file extension with the iClone file extension, then opening the file with iClone worked perfect.

I did a render in CC and a render in iClone and they matched pixel perfect! (doesn't import a camera object but sets the view to match what was saved with CC file)

This worked so well, I wonder why iCone just doesn't open CC files directly... I suppose users could get confused, but a popup window could always give an option to import only the avatar with t-pose, or with avatar with saved pose or all elements such as lights & camera.
