Hello, this character and process is a tribute to all our old loved people! LA CUCHA LUCHA!!!
It is strange that today we are restricted to share with others and maybe the most vulnerable people around us are the old ones. It is time to take care of the weakest ones to learn from them and give them love. I invite you all to be part of ¨LA CUCHA WRESTLER CHARACTER¨!:Here is the Process:
1. My first sketch was about my grandmom: ¨la Cuchita¨, as we used to nickname our old gran mom in Colombia.
I think that old people always have some good stories to share and good roles to play, each joke and smile that they give to us is pure kindness and hope.
2.This image is an invitation to share time as a family, giving the correct value to their knowledge, wisdom and show them compassion and love, even to share their told stories as a gift.
After some wondering about my ideas and concepts, all started as a sketch of an old woman playing with her family using a Virtual reality device, her grandson helps her to improve her beach walking experience, he is putting some water bellow her and making some funny jokes, the rest of the family gives to her all the attention even without watching through the glasses, just all of them are enjoying their lives looking at her smile. I think that if we could learn more and love our old ones, the entire humanity could become better human beings.3. As a second step, I tried to collect and order my references... I separated them into groups like:
FIRST, WRESTLERS REFERENCES
SECOND, DESIGN AND STYLE REFERENCES:
the main objective was to catch the anatomy differences with a stylized character design
After a funny character development I took the model to Zbrush and started to make some cloth and ¨Wrestler¨ stuff:
And Finally the most important piece: THE MASK!
After having modeled on CC3 all the character was completed on Zbrush, then I used Autodesk Maya polygonal modeling tools for create the base RIng.
AFter having some fun with the RING, the "CORONA VIRUS ENEMY", I got into CC3 Again and started to pose my Character.
Some Accessories like boots, skirts, Knee protection were developed on Zrsuhe and then I took them not CC3 to pose them.
Even as you could see forward, the accessories and stuff, some of them were discarded on the render process. But I enjoyed a lot to build them and play to pose her with them.
After that I was back into Zbrush I started to improve materials and lights on the entire scene, then I attacked the fabric movements, wrinkles on the skin, etc...
And at the end, I used Z Materials and begin to taste the final look...
