I want to connect the iphone x using usb. so I don't get lagging like I'm seeing when on wifi. But my iphone doesn't have a sim card and so I can't turn on the iphone hotspot.
am I SOL? Live face gives the 127.0.0.1 address. and  itunes is installed and can see the phone no problem.
but iClone 7 can't see it.
I'm on ios 13.7 would upgrading to ios 14 help?

IIRC you don't need a hotspot when connecting via USB, but I would recommend doing it via ethernet as you'll get even better results (just buy the iPhone ethernet adapter from Amazon for around $40).

Hey Mike, I went through this recently too.  He will in fact need a Sim card with a service plan to use USB.
With the ethernet, it seems you need to directly have your PC and phone connected via Ethernet cables to a Hub.  But, what exactly is that Hub in your case...
Is this hub your Modem, provided by your cable company?...or is it just a thing that has a couple ethernet ports and only connects PC to phone via ethernet cables?
