New to Reallusion softtware and just installed it.

iClone v7.81 just keeps crashing on startup.

What a great start.

Sorry to hear you have had problems launching iClone 7.81.

What are your computer specifications including graphics card? Also do make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed as outdated drivers can cause these kind of problems.

Thanks for supplying your system specs. You are well above the requirements so that's not the problem.

Have you perhaps customised your global 3D graphics settings in the Nvidia Control Panel? If so this could be the problem.

Please try the following to check you are allowing iClone to have control of your 3D Settings:

1. Right click on your Desktop and open the "Nvidia Control Panel".
2. Now select "Manage 3D Settings" from the left panel and then click the "Program Settings" tab from the right side.
3. Look through the list of programs to see if iClone is present. If it is, select it and ensure it is using the RTX 2070.
4. Do also check that it is using the default "Application Controlled" settings and you are not using a custom profile.

5. If iClone isn't listed, click "ADD" and then find iClone 7 in the list or use the location below (default install).

C:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 7\Bin64\iClone.exe

6. Select the iClone.exe and click "Add Selected Program".
7. Again make sure it is using the RTX 2070 and using the default "Application Controlled" settings.

Do try this and see if it helps.

Nope tried all that.

At some point i rolled back to driver 431.86 (which i read about in an old forum).
Then it suddenly worked...  but I closed it and since then it is not working again.

This is very worrying, I was about to spend £1500 on plug-ins and licenses but I'm going to be honest,  I'm starting to think otherwise.

Could someone see if we can resolve what is going on.

Ok so after trying lots and lots of things ( even updated my Bios - which gave me lots and lots of boot problems)

I have managed to get iClone 7.81 to work.

1) rename the plugin folder (C:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 7\Bin64\Plugin) - to Plugins

2) iClone will start with very minimal UI.

3) un-check  popup window at startup 

4) undock any other tools - like Unreal Live Link

5) make sure window is not maximized - just drag the sides so it is almost full-screen.

It now starts up every time - no problem.

Lets see how day 3 goes.

Ok so iClone is running fine but.....

When I now try and run the trial plugins - ( Unreal Live Link, Motion Live ) it just crashes again.

I'm trying to test the full workflow between character creator 3, iClone 7 and Unreal, before buying the full licenses at some point next week.

This is crazy.
