Hello there, I'm a Maya user and have recently learned about, Character Creator 3. I was very close to buying it especially being that there is a huge sale currently, however, after more digging it seems I need other things to bring the characters into Maya. Could you please explain to me all my options for getting my creations from Character Creator into Maya? I have downloaded the trial Version of CC3 and I see a FBX export option and when I click, it says I need the Pipeline Edition to do the export. I just would like to know exactly and upfront, the total cost I will have to spend to reap the benefits of Character Creator while using Maya. (Trying to avoid unpleasant surprises) Thank you for your time!

With Pipeline Extention, you can export a file like 'fbx' that can be used with any software other than iClone as well. Without it can only export a file that can be used by iClone (and other Reallusion software?),
But once you have a fbx file then you have a fully rigged model with 60 blendshapes for the face and a few for the tongue. Textures and Poses can be exported along according to the settings you select during export. You can also choose if you want regular bone naming or Unreal's IK bone naming convention.

Great that sounds good, among the research that I have done I came across this statement down below from a YouTube video...

So according to your answer, I will only need CC3 along with Pipeline to integrate with Maya, no need for IClone and 3DXchange, right?

I use CC3 and pipeline to load my characters into Maya, and then map to HumanIK. I don't have iClone or 3DXchange

Perfect thanks for the insight. I have sinced purchased the software but now I am having an issue with exporting my FBX models from CC3 into maya successfully, maybe you can shed some light?
