After completing my hairstyle, when i try to add it to the file so it can be used on other CC3 character i'm finding the plus button to send it to custom hair folder is always greyed out.
What is most likely to be causing this? Its only the hair folder that is causing this problem.
Its already been exported to iC7 and back to have physics and weight maps added.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/5efa34d8-4585-4c02-94d2-bced.png

You need to make sure that the hair is selected in the Scene Manager tab before you can save it as a custom item. Your image shows that only the character is selected.

Apologies. Here ive taken another screencap, you can see from the modify tools and the grid corners around the accessory, this time the wig is clearly selected, yet the problem with the greyed out plus button is still happening.

When you use Create > Accessory to bring in custom hair it will open in CC3 as an accessory. For it to become savable in Base > Hair you have to use "Transfer Skin Weights" from the Modify Panel and select Hair as the preset. Once you do this you should be able to save the hair.
