Hi everyone!

I've created a blanket for two characters using the physics prop cloth template gray 64x64.  I've edited the weight map accordingly and I'm happy with the result, the only issue is I have no idea how to just make the cloth drape and be still!

The cloth always starts flat and doesn't drape until I push play (I read on these forums that the initial animating of it falling into place is unavoidable?), at which point, over time, it sinks further and further down into the objects it's lying on top of. Is there any way to just save it and have it drape the way it does at a certain frame?

I'm guessing there's something simple I'm missing - basically, how do I have the cloth already draped and motionless instead of continuing to 'melt' further and further down as the scene goes on?

Thanks!

I've uploaded a video that shows the issues I'm having in case it helps:

You have to bake soft cloth simulation. A quick vid I have made.

Wonderful! Thanks so much!  I was able to get the blanket sorted out referencing the video you shared, but now I'm having another similar issue with the female character's hair. As soon as I hit play, her ponytail disappears into the pillow.  Any idea how I can fix this?  Reference video below:

Thanks again!

Set the pillow as a physics object. Set it to static or kinetic so it will not fall away. Use a box shape, as the self-mesh will not effect the soft cloth.

Next thing you would want them to breath and have blanket to follow Smile

Haha! I just finished searching for 'breathing animation" on the forums when I saw this reply.  Yep! That would be nice, but it looks like there's no easy way to do it, so I'm adjusting my expectations. ;-)

Thank you! I'll try that and let you know if I run into any issues.

Here is a physics simulation/morphs combo. Done in Blender and iClone.
