Hi.
Can anyone give me some tips on how to get both those two materials in the title of the post more or less right? I've been trying forever with the glass one. The result I have in the included screenshot is not too bad (for my taste at least), but it's till too transparent. I've tried every setting, Opacity first obviously and I just can't seem to get a realistic car window material. The material for the car paint ids the Plastic material that comes with the Substance PBR 200 pack, and it's not too bad, but still a bit soft. I've searched the content store but I couldn't find anything for those two mats. I've purchased a few car paint shaders from DAZ and they look really nice. If there's a way to convert them to iCLone mats, that could be cool too. If not, is there a mgic setting (or settings) to get those results? I've also included a screenshot with the settings for both materials.
Thanks and stay safe.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/314ca75b-1241-4e48-b922-ee3e.png

You are not going to get far with old Traditional shader for glass (which basically creates a static, fake reflection) and plastic shader for the the body.
All you need is to switch material to PBR, and set Metallic to white and predominantly black for Roughness.
Set opacity for car body to 99% and turn the reflection ON for both Glass and Body material (set value for Reflection experimentally).
But that is just half of the deal.
To get the most out of reflection/gloss and get the "juicy/wet" look, you need to have something to reflect in the first place.
An appropriate light scheme and right IBL for reflection is the key here. Cannot advise more at it depends on the specific project.

Here is an example:

Yup. Definitely looks better. Thanks. I still find the glass too transparent. Is there a way to make it more opaque? In the first image below (Lancer) I followed your advice and the body definitely looks more car "painty". The second image is a render from DAZ, in which I still can't get the glass right, but it looks more like real car glass, more opaque. I usually denoise that after in Affinity. Is there a trick to make the glass more opaque in iClone?
By the way you render looks amazing. Almost iRay-ish.

Forget about the glass too transparent in my last post. Must have done something wrong. Tried it again and voilà. Thanks again.
