We finally installed the updates tonight on iClone.  (That is, my husband installed them because I put off all program changes for as long as I can.) 

I did some simple tiling of textures and it turned into a mess. 

You guys should see my rocky road.  I can't even explain how it came out.  Seriously, there are no words for it. 

* Just for the record: I was a tiling master up until we installed the updates!! :-) 

Is there anything I should know about their new updates, you guys? 

We went from iClone .741 (if memory serves exactly) to iClone 7.72 tonight. 

And have you guys worked with the tiling very much on the updated iClone? 

Any thoughts and feedback appreciated.

I haven't experienced any changes in tiling (I'm on 7.72). Is this with a specific prop or all props?

There actually two places where you can do tiling in the Modify panel. The first is located directly under the textures, which should work without problems:



The second option is near the bottom and that can give unexpected results:



For this option the selected UV Type is also important. Setting it to Box gives a better result in this case. It is a simple way to do some UV remapping in iClone. It is global, however, so with multiple materials on an object it may still give undesirable results for some of the materials.

I would suggest that you try the first example I gave, which has a texture tiled 3x3 on a plane (Plane_A under 3D Surface) and see if your results are similar to mine.

Thank you, Animagic!  Yep, that was it.  After your very helpful pics and tips, I just looked at it again and noticed that the UV settings options was collapsed.

It collapsed when the new update installed, which did not even occur to me last night. :-D 

Last night when it was not where I always did my tiling before, I figured it had just moved with the update, and maybe just condensed to the option near the bottom. 

And yes, it totally created some unexpected results!  My rocky road looked like a paper mache project! :-D LOL

I just now clicked on the UV settings option, and my normal tiling options appeared again.  

My rocky road looks normal now. :-)   Thank you!

I'm glad it helped. I don't know why the UV settings are collapsed by default, but I've noticed that as well.
