Is there a method to create a looping background. Want to do a "flight scene" ala Adventure of Superman" from the 50s. Thanks @

An easy way is to add a Plane to your scene and then scale to fit the frame, then apply a looping video to the Diffuse channel (under Modify)

Gordryd is right on the looping video method, but how do we loop a static image?

Here is my idea:- 1. Duplicate the scene. 2. Take note of the x and y position of the first scene. 3. Move both scenes until the 2nd scene takes the x and y position of the first scene.

I wondered why you didn't include z-axis, then realised I'm on the wrong forum section (I'm supposed to be in iClone). But nevertheless, your method still works 100% in iClone. Thanks!

Hey folks, thanks for the responses. However, I am a little confused as to the process. I get the scene/duplicate idea, but on the adding a "plane" on the "diffuse channel" im lost there. Thanks again

I did this once for one of my music videos a few years back- it's actually quite easy..... what you do is take a Cylinder prop .....then edit / photoshop an image of a city to be seamless, place your character in the middle, then animate the cylinder to spin. Tip on making the image seamless - take a small portion of the left side of the image, then cut and paste it to the right side flipped. if you want to do this 2D CTA - then the concept is relatively the same, make the seamless image, and attach several flat surfaces that you can animate moving to the y-axis. The heart of the trick is a seamless edge. effect at 1:19

Vepop: that is exactly what Im looking for. Im running into a snag: I placed a "city prop" on frame one. I duplicated the prop and moved it next to it to make it longer (same frame) took note of the x y of the first one as indicated. selected both the dupe and the original prop and on moved props so that the dupe lined up to the xy numbers on frame 25... they moved...but no "loop". I know I am missing some steps here (thanks for your patience.) Planetsdragon: excellent vid @
