Like many of you I am eagerly awaiting the release of the appearance editor for CC3, but in the interim I wanted to see if I could get some high level results by using the appearance editor on the CC! Substance base skin materials and then saving and applying it to a CC3 character, making some adjustments and then converting to the Digital Human Shader. I've posted the before and after below. I plan to release a detailed video tutorial of my workflow with character creation once I get caught up on my massive workload, but I wanted to post these images for now to show the fantastic results I have been getting with CC3. Smile

Here is the character before. I did most of the modeling in Daz Studio and then imported through CC3 Transformer. I designed the character inspired by a combination of Chow Yun Fat in "A Better Tomorrow", and both Collin Chiu and Donnie Yen in "Bodyguard from Beijing" and "Flashpoint" respectively. The skin texture here is the Lee 7 Iray skin texture for Genesis 8 Male, which looks good mind you, but I knew that for my animation moving forward, I wanted something that had a lot more umph to it that would translate well once I exported the characters to Unreal Engine 4 for animation and editing.

Now here is the character with the new skin created in CC3 using the process I detailed above. I also applied mesh smoothing and subdivision on both the skin and the clothing. These renders are done entirely in CC3 Iray Render with no post processing whatsoever. Definitely a vast improvement IMO.
