I was interested to see what video editing software users are using. If you could reply and tell me what you use and why....that would be great.

I use Pinnacle Studio. Why? It's the s/w I started with eons ago, I made friends on the user forum there, and I've never had a compelling reason to change. The price seems reasonable and it does everything I need (and more).

AVID Media Composer It has its flaws, but you can stack effect on effect without compromising the other layers and that's a very good thing.

I've also been using Avid MC for the past 10 years and don't regret it. Steep learning curve, and not cheap, but there is a "lite" version available for free.

Thank you all. I was really surprised at the results so far. Well, I will play around with the trial software(s) and see what fits for me and my budget. Thanks again!

I remember using Pinacle editing software many moons ago and found it very intuitive and cleverly designed. Part of the package included an automated music creation tool which stitched your choice track together to your desired 'length'. Clever stuff. These days I use Vegas which I find an intuitive layer based editor, and one I keep returning to. I used Pemiere Pro way back, and found it an impressive layer based editor but I think they charge an ongoing subsciption pricing these days (which I don't like). DaVinci Resolve have a free version of their software which excels in color grading - if I were starting out fresh at a younger age I'd probably go with Resolve personally ..... ~Steve~

At work: 100% After Effects At home: Final Cut Pro For the money: Wondershare Filmora is decent but basic If I had to buy my own: Hitfilm Pro
They can all do the job. Keep an eye out there will be lots of Black Friday deals on the ulead/pinnacle/magix/hitfilm products.
Yes DaVinci is free, but the curve is steep and long.
