Open the timeline then click the little down arrow and tick sound checkbox and delete your sound file (see pic) Chris.

I had the same problem. Dragged a sound file into a scene and it worked okay. When I went to change it, I could not find it. It turns out that I had dragged it onto an object, not the sound track on the project. Eventually found it on a door. You can add a sound file to any object in a scene, not just the project sound track.

When I need to add sound to an iClone project (music, sound effects, etc.), I add a basic cube, make it a DUMMY PROP, and put my audio on the dummy prop. It's basically what Britlish did by accident. Then I RENAME it so I know what it is ("Door squeak" and "Gunshot #1" etc.). Now I can always find a specific audio clip by finding the well-named dummy prop in the Scene listing.

Noticed in iclone 7 that there is no real place to find the sound file you placed on an object to delete or change it. What did work for me is just re-dropping a different sound file on the object again. To make the character silent I'm assuming you can just drop a silent sound file on the character...or door! lol
