It sounds from the looks of it that the Web page is not completely operational
I tried it myself and hit a few pitfalls ...
But the idea of the iClone Avatar Builder looks great and it will undoubtably change the CCD marketplace as it brings additional options to users who require specific custom characters including Cloth and Cloth Textures... But then, I wonder why the iClone Avatar builder is not simply part of iClone???
I agree with some comments from other users on this thread. iClone provides a face mapper tool and body upper and lower exchange capabilities. This is just another way of providing the same function. Why not sell the extra heads, Uppers and Lowers as iClone additions and merge the functionality of the iClone Avatar Builder into iclone? Why not provide these extras as backstage elements??
If I put my marketing hat on, with the avenue of the iClone Builder tool, it sounds like selling textures for iClone Base Characters and making Custom Human iClone characters is not going to live very much longer? ... Unless we, CCD Developer focus on the exotic creatures and characters not readily available... Not much of a change for me ...
One thing I would like to see and I don't understand why it was done that way, is have iClone also enable the Facial Animation for nonhuman characters as long as these respect the facial bone structure of the standard head. I find odd that this is explicitly disabled in the application whereby there is absolutely no technical reason for such limitation.
