3DXchange UV issues

I am trying to break apart an object in Blender. But it seem that 3DXchange mess up the UV. Or am I missing some important step?

select the fighter in iclone and export as fbx
never had any issue doing it that way to blender,
 as for obj to blender. dont know, never tried it.

Tested with FBX from both iClone and 3DXchange and the UV is ok. Because I tested to import it into 3DXchange (unchanged FBX file) right after I exported it from iClone. Step #1 now works.
However, when imported into Blender the UV become messed up, and it looks like the same issue (the UV looks the same as in the video). So there must be a setting in Blender I need to tweek.

I tested to do some manual UV mapping in Blender and FBX>3DXchange>iClone>FBX>Blender. And the UV is still intact. My guess is that the prop use an old UV mapping system that iClone can detect while Blender can not. Wonder if there is a way to somehow update the UV to the latest format and save it? And then edit it in Blender.

This is hardly my area of expertise, but I would think the only variable would be what FBX version you use. I believe iClone/3DX uses FBX 2012. Is there a setting for that in Blender?

You could also check what it looks like in the FBX Viewer from Autodesk (free).

You could also check what it looks like in the FBX Viewer from Autodesk (free). 

Tested the FBX converter from Autodesk and tested some formats. Did not work however.

I did make an interesting observation with the .OBJ files. Each vertex have a UV coordinate. So my prop have 668 vertex points. When exported from blender I also got 668 UV points. The issue is when I export .OBJ from 3DXchange it fills the .OBJ file with 2438 UV points. So the file got way too many UV points.

I remember we had similar issue with Conforming Hair pack when it was just released a year or so ago.
It was fixed by RL in the following update. Not sure what was wrong, but exporting hair would result in singular UV map.
I'd say contact developer and ask for the fix.

Regarding OBJ. You may try to fix it yourself replacing "vt" and "f" references in the file from a *good* export (I am not sure at which point it is getting broken).

Found a workaround that will "repair" the old props UV.
