I tried to reply to a topic with a youtube link, and only saw the text of the url, not the tumbnail that other users get. I tried using both the Insert Link feature and simply pasting the url's text into my reply, l but still don;t see the youtube image. I'm a relatively new member. Is posting youtube links with actual pictures of the video showing in your reply a privilege that only veteran members get, or am I doing something wrong?. A brain injury survivor, I'm not too good with details.

It usually works for me. Any member can do it, it's not a privilege of the few. I just go to YouTube, play the video, high-lite and copy the URL ....should look like this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA4GtCo0qCM ...then as you're creating your post click on Insert Video below and paste it in the box.

You need to make sure it is wrapped in the tags correctly ie which is the closing tag. if you use the insert button when adding the post or reply the tags get added automatically but if you alter the tags possibly by mistake it won't work.

Thanks guys, I should have used the little special youtube tab that wraps that url instead of the general link tab. That was my mistake.
