Would it be possible to add a spherical camera for iray or allow baking IBL? With iray as daz3d supports. Or if there is another method I may be missing to let iray render 360-degree backgrounds.
Best Regards Kevin L

That is very interesting! I did not know we could make 360 with Iray. Thanks for pointing that out. While RL is thinking on a dilemma of integrating lens distortion feature into iClone, I would suggest to make an official FT entry for that.
But meantime, you might be interested to play with current release and manually add this feature:
* Do the Mi Export of any scene * Add the following to the camera "Scene_camera_definition" section of the *.scene.mi file
attribute string "mip_lens_distortion_type" "spherical" attribute scalar "mip_lens_distortion_scale" 10
Distortion type could be one of the the following:
"spherical" "cylindrical" "poly3" "inv_poly3" "poly5" "inv_poly5" "ptlens" "inv_ptlens"
Distortion scale could be a positive or negative value (but I could not see much of the difference while playing with it)
There are some additional parameters listed in an Iray programmer's manual: http://raytracing-docs.nvidia.com/iray/manual/index.html#camera#14083
I only used the 2 options above and I got this render of the Loft scene:
