I have a 3D head generated from another piece of software, and I'd like to combine it with the 3D body model from Character Creator.
Is there any way to export just the body from Character Creator, or import the head into Character Creator so they can be combined?

thank you!

Unfortunately, you can't import a custom head in Character Creator 3 and just attach it to a CC character body. Likewise, you can't just export a CC avatar body.

If you want to get your custom head onto a character body you will need to do all the mesh and rigging work in a 3rd party 3D modeller. If you then wish to use the character in iClone 7 it can be imported using 3DXchange 7 Pro/Pipeline as a non-standard character. However, you won't be able to use the avatar in Character Creator 3 because it will no longer be a compatible CC type character.

If  you generated the head based on a photo using something like FaceGen or HeadShop, there are options.

Via  respective plugins, you can apply the created head to a Genesis character, and then use Character Creator to transform  that character into a CC 3 character. You need CC Pipeline for that.

I have used this a number of times with good results.

thanks guys.

animagic - could you please elaborate on which plugin you're referring to, that allows you to "apply the created head to a Genesis" character?
Do I just need CC pipeline to "convert" it into a CC character?

regards
