Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is ther right place to ask this. I've been searching for days now, is it possible to create some destructible props for iclone ? I've tried the destructible props, the props made by Sen... I would like to go further and extend this to buildings, roads, etc...
I've heard about the Cell Fracture plugin from Blender, I've tried to export some props in fbx but it's quite a mess for now, I don't understand how to use it =/

Do anyone of you know how to use it ? Or do you know other ways to create destructible props in other softwares like Blender, 3dsmax or cinema 4d?

I would really appreciate some advices or tips, it would be really nice to share some knowledge here!!

Thanks in advance !

There is a thread somewhere on the forum that explains how to create a fractured object in Blender and then use it in iClone. You would need 3DXchange to import and convert.

Hopefully someone with a better memory can point you to it...Unsure

The basic idea is that if you have a fractured object, you can use iClone physics to make it collapse or otherwise fall apart when applying an external force. So it is certainly possible.

But I seem to recall that the fractured object could be imported with the animation created in Blender as FBX, which could then play back in iClone.

I did this silly stuff with those Destructible Props back in 2011 in iC5...way too crude for what you could do in Blender...

Very promising though !!

So... I have watched the topic, try again with cell fracture to a simple box... But then it fails to import to 3dxchange. Unfortunately I'm not used yet to Blender, I find it very complicated to make all the fractured cells parents with one empty object. I've seen that's the trick before importing it into 3dxchange... Any help here?

I wish to export various destructible buildings and then share them in the marketplace as freebies... But I'm stuck =(

I'd suggest to start with the basics and make at least one, which is working for you.
This particular user 《/^\》(I'd rather call him Mr. Morpheus given his avatar Smile) has made an excellent written step by step tutorial.
Try to follow precisely and let us know at which point you have stuck.

Here is a quick tutorial based on the above.
Once you get the first one in, you may bring your own props and begin playing with various Fracture Modifier settings in Blender.
