So I did this to test out animation via Python (all of Robby's animation is done via Python scripting).

Too funny. It is obvious that Kelleytoons is far more successful with Python than Robbie is at picking up fembots.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. Setting up the animation literally took minutes -- maybe a total of 10-15. Actual rendering of it was pretty horrendous, but that's another story. The good news is without Python trying to get all the animations of Robby (not just the gears rotating but the switches that move when he "clears his throat" which he does three times here) would have been a trial. As I was I just ran one script and even the voice lights were done. Too, too easy. I have one more Robby animation I want to do but I'm going to give it a break so folks don't get tired of him (I just kind of love him, though).

I laughed out loud. I got a kick out of Robbie's friend putting his hand to his head. Actually, the whole thing was a hoot. Good job.

Hey Mike - Brilliant! - but how did you get the voice lights to synchronize with the audio track? Does the script somehow determine the presence of a 'signal' on a pre-recorded wave file on the timeline?

Yeah, I'm going to assume you didn't read my entire Python thread ("Wrestling with the Snake") but I show off that particular scripting feature there in a video. I have something that also responds to different frequencies but it needs more work and I'm more in an animating mood than programming mood (plus I'm kind of waiting until the next patch for Python -- when that comes out I'll do some more programming).
