I would like to combine the textures into one without converting to a game base in Character Creator 3- any ideas

Well that actually solved one problem- but I can't believe you would include the eyes and the eyelashes within the body type- obviously these will need to be separate- so basically this method is useless for a game engine- what a shame

I am interested in this topic - did Game Base fail you for some reason, I have found myself that it reduces the shape a little, when compared to the original, as the mesh is reduced, but the 4K export map is decent enough...

Yes the game base export is fine- however it combines the eyes eyelashes with the body- which makes it impossible to correct cause you need to set either transparency or fade to that part- if you do it now it effects whole body-https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/8a280068-0dfe-46b7-b3b2-0b1f.png

Is there any solution for this ? Bumped into this problem too and cant find a workaround. At this point i am tired of exporting blindly with different settings.

I ended up taking the fbx export directly from CC3 and merging all the body textures into one using 3ds Max- You will have to render to texture- This way you can keep body separate from eyelashes-- it was a crazy work around but looks great now in Unity-https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/bc8e1a46-bec1-4759-8f86-7da3.png

That indeed looks good - but i bought Character Creator to save me work, not add on top. They advertise it as Game Engine ready and until now i cant find a suitable workflow to Export characters to Unity. Anyone working with game ready materials should have noticed the eyelashes problem right away. The tutorial Videos i found, show a character setup that is so unbelivable performance hungry (multiple expensive materials, huge textures etc.)

I would like to have more control over how the Export packs the UVs. From what i have seen this is already possible (changing Mesh names) but just not implemented well into the UI. Please correct me if i am wrong. I would love to find a good usable workflow here.

Have you been following along with our tutorials such as the one below for using Game Base characters in Unity? CC3 gives you many options to get your CC3 characters into game engines. You obviously have Game Base but also polygon reduction for wearables, single or multi-material options, different texture sizes and now with the Unity and Unreal plugins it is easier and quicker than ever to get the characters and their materials imported.
