Ok, so just spent all this money to do live mocap with a kinect only to discover there is no profile for the Kinect and even IF it does come out it will likely suck.

That partly on me for misunderstanding.  Would be nice if it was a little clear that Motion LIVE doesn't work with the Kinect....

So unless I want to drop over a grand are there any other options?  What about a profile for the HTC Vive system (lighthouses, controllers, and Vive tracker)?

All the compatible Motion Live Gear is listed HERE. This will always show the latest supported hardware for Motion Live.

However you can still use the Kinect by purchasing the Kinect Mocap Device Plug-in. This plug-in is not part of the Motion Live system but can still be used independently.
