Silly question - but here goes...I want to be able to import some FBX object (Hummer) in to CC3 in order to use IRay for render stills. Would I be rIght (which I'm sure I am) that you can only use characters within CC3?

I have loads of other stuff I want to be able to use in IRAY for render stills - whilst I know you can use software such as substance painter I don't really want to do using loads of different software if I can help it.

Cheers,

John

You can load props now as well in CC3, but unfortunately you cannot save that as a scene (has been requested). They would have to be iProps, so FBX files would need to be converted using 3DXchange.

To build your scene, first make sure that your character is loaded.

Then go to File ==> Import and navigate to the prop(s) you want to load. You can also drag and drop props in the scene. Reposition the props as desired.

The other way to do this is to have your CC character in iClone, and attach the Humvee to the root bone of the character. Select the character, and in the 'modify' tab, hit 'Edit in Character Creator'. It will then IMPORT your character and all the things you attach to it into CC3. as I have done here. VOILA'! Your character & Humvee iRay render   ~V~

They CAME THROUGH for you!  I was able to save and re-open the scene above. Kudos to the Reallusion guys.  ~V~
