I have a 29-second MP4 file that loads into and runs on the following players and programs on my computer: Camtasia 2018, DIVX 10, Media Player Classic, VLC Media Player, and something called "Movies & TV" (? Might be part of WIndows 10).
While trying to load it into CTA3 as a prop, an error message pops up: "The file cannot be imported because the codec is not recognized in your system."
The fact that all these other programs run it without problems leads me to believe that the codec IS in my system.
How do I import this MP4 into CTA3?

As a rule RL products do not support MP4s.  You need to use AVI or perhaps MOV.

Alienware Aurora R12, Win 10, i9-119000KF, 3.5GHz CPU, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090 (24GB), Samsung 960 Pro 4TB M-2 SSD, TB+ Disk space

Thanks, Kelleytoons.
I did experiment with an AVI rendering (also labeled as 29 seconds) and it did, indeed load. .
BUT - I got a second puzzle: the AVI is indeed 29 seconds on all the other players/programs I have: however, in CTA3 the 29-second clip expanded to fill the entire timeline of the default 2000 frames -- 66.66666... seconds
Any idea if anyone has asked Reallusion to adopt MP4? Or is there still a licensing fee stopper?
(RL doesn't undercharge for its programs, so I'd think there would be enough profit for them to license what seems to have become a de facto standard.)

Sorry, really don't know much (anything) about CTA.
