Well, I tried the most basic step of them all....and it WORKED 
I powered down, turned back on PC. Loaded the file, and Boom....working.  So, if anyone ever has this issue, try turning off your PC and trying again...I didn't change anything registry or setting-wise, but I did try reinstalling the Downloader program..maybe it needed a reboot to get itself in flow. You know, I noticed this on Win 10, though, which seemed to not be the case in Win 7... Sometimes, if you have had the PC running for a long time, like say >1 day, it just starts having issues with things, especially if you have used a lot of applications. So, in general, if you have some fluke issue that cannot be identified and it is mind-perplexing, it may be Win10 going kaplutz on you. same thing happened to me a few times, again another reason to hate the downloader. my desktop goes months without rebooting as I never know when an idea will pop into my head and I need to get started on it before it leaves my head and waiting for everything to reboot is just enough time to lose an idea.

Could someone clarify what is the difference with this pack vs importing DAZ characters pro & cons thanks, guys?

I'm not sure there are "pros and cons" -- it's like saying what is the difference between two people? These characters have skins and morphs just like the Daz ones, except they look... different, just like each and every Daz character is different from each other. The main advantage to getting this pack, IMHO (and why *I* bought it despite having hundreds of Daz avatars) are the eyes, which are custom designed and can be used for any character. I could have made similar ones myself, but for the price (I got $20 off so it was $79) getting these characters, the new skins and morphs AND the eyes was just too irresistible. But everyone needs to decide for themselves.

@ian_11: There are no dumb questions, but I couldn't think of an answer in this case...  I agree with what Kelley stated and would add there is also a certain convenience of having it all ready to go. That said, the DAZ import has been working very well for me, so it's certainly an option as well.

I just purchased the Elite Characters, after buying the Crazy Talk 8-Pro, two days ago..... I have read all the problems everyone is having and i am unable to get this downloaded or installed.......of course, I am way out of my water on this....but if anyone finds a solution, please post it....Thank you

The Elite Characters pack is for Character Creator 3 only. This pack won't work with Crazytalk 8. Do you have Character Creator 3?

I have a MAC. the Character Creator 3 is only a Windows program....
so i guess i am screwed...nuts
