Since it hasn't yet been released for use in iClone it isn't possible to give an answer, however I have serious doubts if it will be possible to render animation with a reasonable time per frame rate for users.

By the way, when you have a question there's no need to shout at us for attention- a post in capital letters is considered shouting, and isn't polite.

This is all new to me but I did find this as a reference:

Which use cases are best suited for iray?
• Architectural Visualization
• Lighting Design Visualization
• Automotive Styling and Marketing Visualization
• Engineering and CAD (Styling & Design)
• Engineering and CAD ( Lighting Simulation)
• Product Design Visualization
• Sales and Marketing Content Creation
=================================================
Which use cases are best suited for mental ray?
• Feature film animation
• Broadcast motion graphics
• TV and feature film visual effects
• Animated marketing and promotional media

It's an Autodesk document

It might be worth a try to use iRay but according to the document link, iRay is not well suited for animation. My interest is primarily game design so I'm thinking I may not invest in the NVidia GPUs.

If your interest is video games, then iClone7 rendering is great for that. Also, the game engine you use will be the final rendering program.

It sounds like you are into video games. I'm learning and trying to visualize how the pipeline will work. Can you give an example of how you are using iClone 7 rendering that is then exported to a game engine? I can see how CC3 is great for creating the characters, and I can see how iClone 7 should be great for adding animation; including facial, hand, and body mocap. But from there I was thinking everything else had to be done in the game engine. Obviously I'm missing something though. What else are you doing in iClone before export to a game engine? Are you using Unity? Thanks.

Hi danmiller,

I'm sorry for the late reply.  Work has taken me away from my animation for a while now.  I don't do any gaming work.  I do enjoy gaming now and then,  I just find that the renders from iclone7 only, look like a lot of video game cut scenes.

As far as what to use for making movie quality rendering, I don't know if Iray can do that.  I am sure there are others who know.  If you are rendering out frame be frame, then your editing software should be able to bring in the images as a complete clip.  I know "hitfilm" editing software can, and it is free.

I think you could get a nice look from iClone7 to do something like the TV show "Clone Wars", or maybe even "Star Wars Rebels."

I am going to continue my work in iClone7 and I might not do Iray rendering, since I have seen some post on material and lighting not rendering the same as it does in iClone7.  Meaning that you have to light things differently for Iray.  I am still very new to iClone7 and not getting much time to practice and play around with the software these days.
