Just a quick technical question. I've been handling slo-mo by reducing the speed of character motion to, say, 50%, so it's running at half speed.
I've just noticed that my video editor accepts 60FPS avi which it translates into slo-mo 30FPS (twice as many frames).
Does the latter method result in a higher-quality slo-mo or are the two visually equivalent?

It probably drops every other frame so that wouldn't make any difference, unless it uses the extra frames to create some motion blur effect. That could look visually a bit better. I have tried it in the past, but I wasn't convinced (this was in Sony Vegas).

I prefer to slow animation speed manually too. I tried 60fps in Sony Vegas but ended up with a jerkier motion regardless of if I disabled resampling in sony veg or not.

... so Im keen to follow this thread too 😊

In real life , the more speed frame you use the best slowmo you get. In CG it's different because as you notice when you slow the motion of a character ,
all move will be inerpolated by frame, so it's better to do it in CG because there is no limit about speed or slow. In real life you're limited with your camera
and with a video editor you're limited about the framerate of your footage.
